This product certainly reduces the time and pain involved in tank maintenance. Many older people tend to have difficulties maintaining their pets living quarters. This is the perfect alternative to the traditional cleaning methods. Suction power is determined by water pressure. There was an issue with a plastic part cracking. I contacted the company and they acted promptly to resolve the problem. Not only did they replace the broken part, they sent all the extras that came with the original purchase. This tool is an absolute must for anyone who owns an aquarium especially large and/or multiple ones. I do not like wasting water so I do start the siphon manually outside and drain into the garden so I’m not running double the water but that’s just me. Also, the 15/16 adapter for my modern faucet had a different thread pitch so it leaked slightly but a quick trip to the hardware store for an adapter solved that. I am really impressed with the quality and easy of use for something that is a fraction on the name brand option. It has really saved me so much time and energy that I actually can enjoy cleaning my aquariums more and not dreading weekly water changes. I got this mainly for my indoor fancy goldfish pond, it's on the floor so a regular gravity siphon is a hassle to use. I use a Python at work for a huge system and it makes cleaning the tanks so easy so I wanted a smaller scale automatic siphon for my tanks and pond. The pictured product is exactly what you'll get you just need to assemble it. It works pretty much like the Python siphon just smaller and it will do the job for a home aquarium, even the larger ones. One important note is that the suction power will depend on the faucet it's attached to, so you may need to increase your water pressure if it's too weak. It's not the fault of the product. Getting one of these vs. a gravity pump siphon is a no-brainer. There's no mess and lugging around heavy buckets, and it's a good product for the price. Two issues I ran into though: Firstly the assembly has one quirk for me which was attaching the clear tube and getting the drainer to fit. It takes a lot of fiddling around and I was scared I would break the tube trying to squeeze it in. So just be gentle and patient with it. Secondly the adapters didn't fit my sink but I'm not going to fault it on the product since the bathroom faucet I have is a really odd size. One of the adapters fit my kitchen sink however so it's fine. Other than that I'll be tossing the 3 other pump siphons I have now. ... show more

I have used other aquarium tank filler and cleaners. They tend to be cheap and fall apart easily or the adapter for the faucet falls off all the time. This is high quality and much easier to use. Purchased the 30ft line and it helps with my back.. no more carrying 5 gallon buckets! I do like the size and how easy it is to use. However, the fitting adapter to my kitchen pull down faucet didn’t work. I had to find an alternative to get the adapter to work. Keep in mine the included adapters may not work on most pull down kitchen faucets.. the adapters will only work on garden hoses, regular bathroom faucets. But overall, if you can find a way to use it from your sink, great product. I had to give 4 stars bc the right adapter didn’t work. ... show more

It’s easy to use, easy to store. Gives you lots of control over water intake/output. Came with attachments for multiple types of faucets so I can use it on both my utility sink and my finer bathroom faucets for fish tanks on both levels.
