One thing I would look out for while putting it together is don't stretch the mesh too tight.it will end up cutting the mesh when your rolling in the rubber rope.there is a balance. The netting itself is as described. I used it to cover a hole in my aquarium lid to keep my hatchetfish from jumping. Clear, let’s light through no problem. The problem is that I clearly received someone’s return. The netting was marked with a red marker and was cut into several strips and had a few chunks missing. Since I could still use it and there was more than enough for what I needed it’s fine, but pretty unprofessional. ... show more

    • Useful for my aquarium project.
I cut my plastic lid on my 40 gal and 10 gal aquariums, glued this mesh on the hole and now I have a well vented aquarium, with no risk of fish jumping out. I'd buy again if I needed more.

I bought this to use on my reef tank, there was more than enough and it was easy to work with. The holes are small enough to keep fish in the tank. You just need something to secure it (I used clips). Great for any size tank!

A good buy. All my tanks have diy netting like this because all fish can jump: Just pick up some screen frames kits from the hardware store (frames, corners, spline, a spline roller) and you are good to go. Doesn’t block much light and won’t require cleaning like a glass or acrylic top. Plus you get better gas exchange. ... show more

    • Perfect for reef tank top.
I made a screen top for my 90 gal reef tank. The screen lets more light through, and keeps the tank cooler. Also, it doesn't need to be cleaned the way the glass tops do. The clear 1/4" mesh is perfect for this, and there is enough to make the top at least 3 times over.

    • This mesh is built for tanks!!!!
I'm pleased with the quality of the mesh, feels sturdy and strong for any tank cover, and it doesnt upstruct any light (ai prime hd). Its frustrating building the frame but with the right tools like the sling roller it makes it less of an ache but the mesh itself is great!
