I rated this 5 star because the product came as described and made cleaning a 150+ gallon so much easier! Literally! Initially, I was looking at this product for quite some time but was scared to purchase. I had purchased a product similar to this before but it didn't work as well as this one. Before, my husband and I, would clean the tank the "really" old fashion way where we'd use buckets to fill the tank. Imagine doing this to a 150+ tank. Took us forever! Now, water changes are a little less than an hour with prep work involved. Cons: Not enough of a vacuum pull that I'd like to see, in order to siphon poop out but does the job. Pros: Easy to assemble Multiple ways to attach to faucet or hose Easy to clean Can take water out of the tank quickly and fill the tank quickly Worth paying for ... show more

I've owned the top brands of these type of suction gravel cleaners over 25 plus years. Could get this one half the price and half the delivery time so I jumped out there and said why not.. well I'm using on a 30 gallon tall, works pretty darn good considering that home I'm using it in has poor water pressure, it could have more suction but I blame that on the water pressure on that house. I will try it later this year on my other house that has great water pressure and I'm sure it will work great... only complaint, and I did NOT remove a star for this but some would, the assembly of the tube going to the suction large cylinder is obviously machine cut, leaving a rough edge making it damn near impossible to put it on. Just use a piece of sand paper or a file (wood or metal) lightly go around the edge that your attaching the hose to and it will in 2 mins remove said lip created from the manufacting issue. Should have been cut with hot sharp tool but it leaves a burr in the lip all the way around. Remove that and bamm slips on and holds water tight no leaks. Overall, very impressed by basically a knock off model that works just as good as the top models. Even when turning valves to stop suction or filling no problems at all with pressure building up and causing leaks. Never had any leaks or issues, just that one small issue I already described. I've been using a makeshift vacuum for years. That being said, I already had the correct attachment needed to make one of the three included fit. Otherwise, none of the three included would have worked. The length of the hose was much more than I needed (25 ft) so I ended up cutting it down to a more appropriate length. The suction is pretty good. Could be better but that's a water pressure issue, not a product issue. It's super simple to put together and the nozzle head is a quick connect, making water changes so much faster than my bucket/window method. I have sand, not rocks and although I see a little bit of sand in my sink after cleaning, it's very little. Before, I was losing sand at a rate of 1/4th to 1/2 cup at every water change. Using this method, I may lose teaspoons, 1 tablespoon at the most during sand cleanings. I've had a snail outbreak which resulted in my fish getting intestinal parasites, which required 25% water changes and sediment cleaning every 24 hours during treatment. Such a headache but, this hose made such a difference. I am so glad I purchased this product when I purchased the parasite treatment. ... show more

Purchased the 30ft line and it helps with my back.. no more carrying 5 gallon buckets! I do like the size and how easy it is to use. However, the fitting adapter to my kitchen pull down faucet didn’t work. I had to find an alternative to get the adapter to work. Keep in mine the included adapters may not work on most pull down kitchen faucets.. the adapters will only work on garden hoses, regular bathroom faucets. But overall, if you can find a way to use it from your sink, great product. I had to give 4 stars bc the right adapter didn’t work. ... show more

There are 3 main uses that affected how I rated this product - filling a tank, draining a tank, and cleaning a tank. I'm also taking into account ease of use. First of all, it's really easy to set up - anyone should be able to attach it with a pair of channel locks / pliers (and you might not even need those). I only needed to use channel locks because the existing fixture on the faucet was a bit hard to get off. The kit includes everything you need, with multiple adapters and thread tape. And the fact that it uses quick connectors is definitely nice. As far as filling a tank goes, it works really well. Once everything is hooked up to the faucet, you just run the vinyl tubing to the tank and turn it on. It filled a 55 gallon tank really quickly - faster than I thought, which almost resulted in over filling the tank! Much faster and convenient than lugging buckets back and forth from the sink. As far as draining the tank went, that still works decently, but it took a long time. And, once you get most of the water out, you have to make sure to keep the end of the cleaning tube completely submerged. If even a tiny bit of air gets into the cleaning tube you lose suction. To fix it, you have to take everything apart and then reassemble it, with all of the parts submerged (which was a bit tricky). As far as cleaning the tank goes, it really didn't work very well at all. It uses the pressure of water coming out of the faucet to generate suction, but even with the faucet wide open (both hot and cold), I was barely able to get even relatively light debris all the way up the cleaning tube to the point where it was sucked into the vinyl tubing. Overall, it's easy to hook up and works great for filling a tank, but for the price I thought it should have been better at draining and cleaning the tank as well. ... show more

I was skeptical about this product and even started the return. But I have been able to use it successfully in my new condo with carpets and had no spills and an easy way to change the water for my turtle tank once I got the adapters installed. Totally recommend the product.
