  • Very beginner guitar
Color: 2) Ash, Gloss
Works well for the price. Playability is great as it can make sound fairly well. Going down the fret board it starts to be off from what the tone should be in general but this still makes a good starting point to where if you have a kid that wants to try guitar start out. You'll need to always tune every time at the beginning of playing as it become out of tune even after a day. The material is ok and wish there was more rigid material or epoxy used in order to stiffen it up as I'm pretty sure this is what is contributing to the need to tune every time you play. Material and Pickup quality is good as it reverberates well making a good round sound. I believe there should be better glue/epoxy that could be used where the neck it as it's only been about 6 months since I bought and can notice there's cracking around the neck. So only time will tell when the next breaks but this could also contribute to the need to retune every session. Great guitar for small fingers to get into it and then moving on to a better one in order to find something more long lasting. ... show more

  • Nice quality beginner guitar
Color: 3) Black, Matte
This 1/4 size guitar is nice quality for young beginners to learn on. It is a scaled down version of a full size guitar and I like that it doesn’t make any compromises on components. Many beginner guitars have plastic or otherwise cheap feeling parts, they don’t hold a tune and don’t sound terrific. This guitar feels great in hand and sounds warm and really nice. It has nylon strings which are more beginner friendly than metal ones, being more comfortable to play. They take a couple more days to break in but hold tune just fine after that. The guitar comes with an extra set of strings which is handy. Overall a nice guitar for little kids to learn on before they can handle a full or even half size guitar. ... show more

  • Pretty Good Beginner Guitar That’s Fun For Any Skill Level
Color: 5) Onyx
So I really like this guitar! It has a hard plastic (or something similar) body that feels very solid and feels like it will last a long time as well. It has a really deep resonate tone as well. I chose the 30” version because I also have a KALA Baritone Ukelele and a Yamaha Guitalele. This one is pretty close in size to the KALA Baritone Uke, and quite a bit bigger than the Guitalele. But it sounds very much as loud and deep as a standard sized guitar. Its nylon strings are comfortable on the fingers and the neck is straight and overall is pretty well setup. My main concern with it is that the action is just too high to easily play. I can’t imagine how a novice would enjoy playing this. It takes a different amount of pressure to fret a note at the first fret than it does at the 12th. Or the 5th even. Or the 2nd actually. My plan is to lower the action at the bridge. The string height at the first fret/nut is actually reall good. I have some (a little) experience working on banjos and the “repair” I have to perform is fairly minimal. Even so, I have the proper tools to modify the bridge and to accurately measure the action as I go along. So I feel very comfortable making this change. Now, the question for you is: Was the 30” version I got the same as all other 30” in terms of string height? My guess is probably so. Is the larger size versions of this guitar the same as a the smallest size in that the action will be too high? I’m going to hazard a guess and say no. As the size goes up, especially, I would think the action would be much better. That actually occurred to me when I chose the 30” but I wanted one to practice with and tool around on that was about the same size as my other small instruments. It makes it easier to switch from one to the other when the sizes are more consistent. And besides, I am learning to play mandolin as well and the strings of a mandolin are very close together and very close to the fret board,, so I wanted to keep the guitar action closer to that so practice on one would transfer to practice on the mandolin. Overall I like this guitar very much! It is fun to play, even with the high string action. When I lower the strings, it will be about as perfect (for me) as a small inexpensive guitar can be. Oh, meant to add also that this is light years in quality beyond those crappy little toy guitars you find at Walmart. ... show more

  • Great quality, perfect for beginners
Color: 3) Black, Matte
This guitar has been a great beginning guitar for my daughter. She is 6 years old and it fits right on her lap. She is able to hold it on her own and manipulate the strings. It is lightweight, yet quite durable. My son is 13 and it is just a bit too small for him, I believe the size of this guitar is good for elementary age children. I think this guitar will last us for quite some time until we decide if she will pursue playing the guitar on a more professional level. It is wonderful for practice, the sound quality is very good and it comes with all the extras you might need for your beginner. ... show more

  • Very well made child's musical instrument. Holds its tune, unlike other small beginner guitars.
Color: 2) Ash, Gloss
Very pleased with this guitar that is very well made. It includes the truss and truss adjustment that stabilizes the neck against the stretch of the guitar strings, so that it holds its tune. It is a musical instrument - not a frustrating toy for a beginning learner. The included tuner works for all of the notes. This was not so for a competitor we purchased and returned since it was poorly made and didn't hold a tune at all!) I ordered replacement strings from a music store, since another reviewer suggested that. But, so far we are happy with the strings that it came with. After buying the cheaper one, I delved further into research for a child's guitar and found this was recommended by a true guitar manufacturer. A big brand name was twice the cost or more, which wasn't reasonable for what may be a passing interest for our grandchild. It is not a small "parlor" guitar for an adult, but has the smaller neck and fret length for small child's hands. Very nice tone given the small size. We have not used the online lessons, since we will let our son set that up but that's a nice extra. ... show more

  • OK - no 2 month free music lessons
Color: 2) Ash, Gloss
We purchased this to see if our 5 year old would stick with guitar before buying a more expensive instrument. This is decent enough for what we purchased it for. If you care about quality this is not for you. Parts of the guitar were dinged and paint scratched off sound is not great but good enough if you’re testing out a new learners interest. THERE IS NO MUSIC CLASS SUBSCRIPTION! I partially ordered this guitar over a slightly cheaper one because that is what they advertised. When I went to redeem my subscription they told me it’s actually a $40.00 coupon and can only be used once - that means you can only purchase ONE lesson. If the lesson costs less than 40.00 the balance of the money is forfeited by you. So if you take a $2.00 group lesson you lose the rest of the $38.00. This is not a two month music lesson subscription by any means. When I confronted the company about it showing the flyer that came with the guitar they did not respond back. ... show more

Bought this for my son and he was very pleased and excited. It is the perfect size for him as a beginner. Worth the price. Has a good sound quality and looks really great. I love the additional accessories that are included with the guitar. Would recommend it

  • Poorly made, little value.
Color: 2) Ash, Gloss
The product is poorly made, so it seems like a decent beginner guitar for someone who is unsure of whether or not to play the guitar. The product promises 2 months of free guitar lessons. HOWEVER, the company that provides the lessons refuses to honor this, instead offering no a 40 dollar credit that must be used only in one day. The manufacturer should not state that it gives two months of lessons if it doesn’t. Bad product. Inaccurate description, poor customer service. I recommend AGAINST buying this product. What kind of company gives a bait and switch, promising 2 months of lessons then giving you the finger after you buy the product. Shame on this company and shame on Amazon for letting these charlatans continue to sell. ... show more
