I have to say that I look for deals. If I can save a decent amount of money buying off-brand instead of the name brand, I usually do and don't regret it. However, these seat cushions were recommended to us by a nurse friend with the caveat not to buy the cheaper off-brand versions. We listened and have since had the chance to try out those other, less expensive cushions alongside our authentic Purple cushion. There is a BIG difference. If you are buying one of these to provide comfort for someone confined to a chair for a long period of time, or who finds riding in the car very uncomfortable, you'll want to get the cushion that actually provides the relief they need. Pay extra money to get the genuine article. The person using it will thank you.

I purchased this to use on the seat of my Pelican Catch 100XD. It is a foot powered peddle drive kayak. After peddling around the lake for hours, my butt gets sore. It takes a bit of pleasure from an otherwise pleasant day on the lake. After looking around at different options, I opted for this cushion. It has made a world of difference. I have used it on 2 trips now, and I can say with full confidence that this seat makes an amazing difference. An unexpected bonus is that it also makes my kayak more silent. When peddling this kayak without the cushion, the seat legs rub a bit on the kayak and the seat fabric rubs on the seat frame, making an annoying noise each time you push the peddles. I use my kayak for fishing, so I like to be silent as possible. This cushion took that sound away. The cushion absorbs the movement and I am now in stealth mode. It also makes the seat higher, which I like. A lot of people in my kayak social media groups alter their seats to elevate them. It makes fishing easier. So, like I said, the extra 2-3 inches I get from this cushion help a lot. That pro also creates a con, however, as the seat's back rest becomes "shorter" and I have noticed that my upper back is missing that support that is lost when using the cushion. I corrected that by reclining the seat a bit. It wasn't a perfect fix, but it helped. I logged 4 hours on the lake last night and my back and backside both feel fine today. Just to be clear though, this isn't going to eliminate the pain in your butt completely. I still notice myself shifting around here and there to relieve some pressure, but believe me, there is a WORLD of difference between using this cushion and not using it. I also used it on a 2 hour car drive and it was lovely. I had to make my car seat lower though because the added height created by the cushion changes everything I am used to. If you get this for the car, keep that it mind. It is okay if you have car seats that can be raised/lowered. If you don't, I am sure it will be fine, it just will take a few trips to develop new muscle memory.

Bought it for my husband who works at home and sits on a hard dining room chair all day. We had gotten a cheaper thinner one before, which I now use and still like but my husband wanted more thickness. We've had this one for a few months now and he is still very happy with it. Sometimes he switches his chair for a wooden stool with a narrow rectangular top and the cushion still works and doesn't fall off because of the bumpy sticky underneath side of the cover, which is great quality and comes with 2 handles ( the cushion is pretty substantial and heavy, so I guess for people who'd want to carry it around). Expensive yes but a great purchase and no regret here.

Iโve had this for two months now to give an adequate review. I sit for 8 or more hours for work and this has helped a sore rear and lower back issues. I understood why people say it slides but itโs not really an issue for me to stand up and adjust it once Iโm done for the day. Only happens once a week if that. I gave it 4 stars as it has an odd smell from the cushion itself that is still noticeable even today. Havenโt washed the cover it comes with yet. Im curious if that would help? Iโll be in the market for more as needed.

Ironically the best use I found for this cushion is for when I'm lying in bed! I usually place this under my hips when I'm sleeping for extra support/comfort. I was diagnosed with autoimmune arthritis and the pain would keep me up at night and still does at times. This cushion helps in bed the most, considering that its flat and harder for the item to slip around. I might have to take it out of its cover to see if this helps me while at my desk, since it slips around so much. It doesn't exactly help with support on my hip or coccyx, but, it does help with sharp pains I get when I'm simply sitting. I think my only other complaint for this item, is that it is hard to travel with and a little on the heavy side for on-the-go sitting. For the help with my sleep alone, it was worth every penny. But, for my desk? Its alright. I'll check in after I try this item without its cover to see if it slides around as badly. I have a herniated disc in my upper lumbar; do not recommend for laying as the pressure is awkwardly applied and makes it painful. Good for: Sharp pains, Long-term seating/layingdown, lower-back support while sleeping, home/office use. Arthritis. Not so good for: Travel, joint/coccyx support, herniated discs/injuries, using with the cover(?)
