    • Delighted, Excellent gazebo!!

Simply put, this is a great gazebo. There are so many to choose from, but you can't go wrong here. Heavy duty, nice looking, easy to assemble (I am 67 and assembled 95% of it by myself). We can finally sit on the patio that faces west and not be cooked by the hot afternoon sun. Also, I had some questions and the folks at Purple Leaf got back to me in the same day. Great support. I am not sure how this might compare to cheaper units, but in my opinion, it is a great value and looks great. I would not opt for something that you might not be proud of. 5 Stars! ... show more

Love our gazebo! It does take at least two people to assemble, but the instructions are detailed and complete, and all of the pieces are clearly marked. At one point we recruited a neighbor to help hold one long side up while I attached a short side. Once we had the four sides assembled and in place, things progressed quickly. My advice is to read the instructions carefully and completely, and don't head into it "willy-nilly". If you don't have good mechanical skills, find someone who does to help, and don't be in a rush. All that being said, we are very happy that we purchased this gazebo. It provides a great shelter from the sun and the rain, and it looks great, too! In addition to photos showing the finished product, I included one that shows the sides with the legs attached to the horizontal rails and laid out, ready to assemble. I also included one with the sides and the upper roof section in place. Once we got to that point, it was just a matter of a couple of hours or so to get the roof on, and a little bit more to hang the curtains in the screens. We purchased the light kit and strung it along the inside frame part way up the under side of thebroof, and secured with zip ties. We also installed an outdoor ceiling fan made specifically for gazebos. The three ceiling hooks that are built in to design of the gazebo made that so easy! We've enjoyed dining out and, here in Florida's panhandle, the zippered screens have kept the mosquitoes and other bugs away. We've discovered a "bonus" use of our gazebo. We had our first good freeze of the year a couple of weeks ago. We gathered all of our outdoor potted plants under the gazebo, placed a space heater on a stand inside and closed the side curtains. All of the plants survived and are still thriving! ... show more

    • Good investment
Color: LED Gray Size: 14' X 16' Set name: Gray Frames
The Purple Leaf 14' x 16' gazebo is well made, sturdy and beautiful. Delivery was a day early, much appreciated. Assembly went fairly well. We read and watched many reviews for pointers. We staged the pieces on a tarp beforehand. Very good advice. We looked at instructions many times to stay on course. A few instructions were unclear and we had to redo. Otherwise came together nicely with good alignment. The screens and curtains are heavy duty, we'll made, with sturdy zippers. Very happy with our investment. We get a lot of snow in Northern MN. So we'll order the support system. According to snow load claims and reviews, we expect it will do well. Time will tell. ... show more

    • So glad I took the plunge! Great purchase!
Color: LED Gray Size: 14' X 24' Set name: Gray Frames
I am crazy about my new gazebo! I have wanted a gazebo for my patio for several years. I have started researching various brands, reading through dozens of reviews, but just could not bring myself to make the purchase. Over a period of about three years, my research kept bringing me back to Purple Leaf. This summer I finally took the plunge and made the purchase. I chose a weekend and invited my children and grandchildren to a “ family project day”. We had 5 adults and 5 children working diligently in temperatures with a heat index of 110+, which required an occasional dip in the pool to cool off. Work began around 9:00 that morning and ended around 6:00 that evening. We had to get together the following day to finish up. Had the heat not been a factor, we most likely could have finished in one day. The contents came very nicely packaged with packing materials appropriate to minimize damage during shipping. I was especially impressed with the plastic organizers for the hardware. They really helped keep our project moving along. All parts were accounted for and arrived with no damage, with the exception of a few scuffs on the corner brackets where the two pieces were packaged together. This was just a little noticeable, so we put those corner pieces on the backside of the gazebo. It would be nice if they included a little touch up paint for that. I was concerned how it would stand up during severe weather as we do occasionally experience strong storms with straight line winds. Just days after we finished our project I had the opportunity to find out. We had a storm with winds exceeding 60 mph. The gazebo stood firm. Water did get inside even though I had both the netting and curtains zipped shut. I believe it blew in from the ventilation space between the two roofs. I can’t imagine this happening during a regular thunderstorm, but as I said, this storm was severe. The only other item I had issues with is the netting inserts that go between the two roofs. They do not all fit flush. I am going to have to get on a ladder to see how I can remedy that. Insects have been getting in through those gaps. All in all, I am thrilled to have my gazebo. I would purchase another from Purple Leaf in a heartbeat. I have been actually considering purchasing a smaller one to place over the grilling area. I thought I might wait awhile. It might be a little too soon to mention another “family project day”. ... show more
