We are very pleased with our purchase of this item. We were amazed at how fast we received the first boxes within two days and had all boxes three days after ordering As others have stated the directions could be more clear in places. Overall it took two of us to assemble the gazebo in about 40 hours total. One of the most frustrating things was looking for the directions and parts in 10 different boxes. Hint, directions are in box 3. We have our hot tub in the gazebo. With electric ran to the gazebo we have added a ceiling fan and LED lights around the perimeter. So far it’s worked out wonderfully. On the downside, after we purchased this gazebo we found the same one on Wayfair for $300 less plus free shipping—all totaled it was a little more than $600 less than Amazon. Shop around!!!

This appears to be a product that has been designed by expert craftsmen/craftswomen on computers which then transmitted the design to a computer driven machines. CAD/CAM The secret to getting superb results is to ensure that the bottom rails are level all around. Most existing concrete patio pads are pored with an 1/4” per 12” slope to drain water away from buildings and foundations! (I chose to cut up 1/2” RV jack pads and stacked mine 2 1/2” under my outer posts so the bottom rails would be level all around. This causes gaps under the bottom rails on thebottom and sides. I chose to rip pressure treated 2x4 and put the uncut side down and used black concrete caulking to seal the wood to the concrete and to the metal bottom rails! I chose to use three (3) 3/8” x 5” concrete anchors to anchor the post bottom metal to my concrete pad. One on each side and one in the middle closer to the front so the post clears the bolts when it is placed over the anchor plates. Take care that the corner posts are plumb on two dimensions ( Left and Right on outer post surfaces. The bottom distance diagonally across from all four posts inner surfaces MUST BE EQUAL! Think of an X on its side. Take extra care to ensure every member is plumb and square! This is very important because the upper outer rails must also be square so the roofing trusses go up square so the top cover bolts align. This step is critical so the roof cover panels will overlap and align and seal properly to be water tight even under stormy conditions. Also the bolt holes are no more than 1/32” diameter bigger than the bolts! So the over lapping panels have to be aligned very closely to get the bolts to pass through both panels and align with the anchor holes in the roof flaming members! One other caution: the instructions are quite vague and the two inner joists have two bolt holes opposite of each other on the bottom 6”. One is to anchor the joist where the cross the upper beams The anchor hole on top of the joist is to attach the roof panel framing members to the top of the joists. Make sure to install all corner beams first. They will guide you to install the two inner beams with the same profile going up to the cover. Watch the sticker labels because it is easy to put these on the opposite side of the roof from their intended positions. Good luck, I’ve reccomended Purple Leaf hire a professional technical writer to redraft the installation instructions so at least a retired General Contractor can easily install these Solariums. I had a technical writing class in college that was very helpful. Walter P Own and installed a 12’ x 14’ Solarium, which has held 8 adults and 12 grandchildren for Christmas dinner!

This thing is solid...despite having issues with assembly. I cannot imagine how creative one would need to be to do this all on their own! OMG! I had my wife, my brother, my father in-law...not all at once per se, but off and on. I have holes visible behind some of the roofing support bars, but they don't seem to leak, so my wife thinks that they should be like that. I, also, struggled to get the outside pieces that help hold the roofing parts together to align...a couple of them are barely up there. Instructions were a pain, but I mean...it's together and it seems to work. We'll see how it handles or holds up to nasty storm winds once hurricane season is upon us here in the souf. -=80)

Get ready for 3 days of construction, but believe me it's worth the effort. It took 3 adults 18 total hours to complete the structure. You will need two tall ladders to complete the roof construction as it is much higher than expected, and there is plenty of head room for ceiling fans because of the height. Once the roof is done move on to the panels. Hint, the numbers for the panels are on the bottoms, and you will definitely need to know which ones are which to make things work, don't assume you know which panel goes in what position. The nuts that slide into the track are used to secure the bottom of the panels on the sliding door sides and are tricky to position because you can't see them. Big Hint: My Daughter in Law came up with the idea of using two small drill bits to hold the nuts in position when installing the panel so that they are properly aligned so that the screws can be installed. Again, pay attention to the pictures and don't assume anything. Now, when finished the structure is amazingly sturdy and beautiful, so all of your efforts will be worthwhile. I highly recommend this gazebo.
