Let me start by saying that I never write reviews, however this Gazebo so impressed me that I felt compelled to write a review. First, lets with packaging.....the six delivered boxes, were in good shape and when I opened them I found everything to be labeled and neatly packaged with padding throughout so pieces would not be damaged in shipping. Thumbs up on this....the best packaging I've ever seen. Second, the instructions were great. Now, I am a 70yo guy and built the gazebo myself, so I did have to get creative with some of the assembly instruction, but was able to build the entire 10'X14' gazebo myself. Third, quality is outstanding with no scraped powder coat and only one bag of parts being mislabeled, but that was an easy spot. Forth, assembly was well thought out and went together without a hitch. Oh, one hint, when the assembly instructions say to leave some bolts loose, leave them very loose, not just a thread or two. It will help with aligning some angled pieces and the dreaded "R" brackets. I anchored the gazebo to a deck I just built and it seems to be very sturdy and should be able to withstand high winds. This gazebo is slightly more expensive than cheap competitors, but believe me its well worth the few extra bucks as you will not be sorry. I can't express in words how great this product is and how happy I am with my purchase. If you are considering a gazebo, I highly recommend the Purple Leaf brand.

I am a professional handyman. I built this gazebo on a raised deck all by myself. Had the wife help tighten a few screws that I couldn't reach myself. For the most part, everything fit together as it should have. A few places had a little difficulty lining things up, but I got them. I did have a couple items that had manufacturing defects. Two of the posts had tabs that were welded on crooked. No way to bend them back without breaking them off, so I enlarged the holes and screwed the beams on to them. Still plenty of strength as there are more screws holding these parts together. They offered some kind of discount or the replace the posts but I did not want to wait for new ones to arrive. Made it work and I'm happy. I followed a YouTube video's advice and separated/organized all the parts. Used little plastic containers for fasteners (labeling them) which really made it easy to use the right ones. This thing went together pretty easy even though the directions were a little vague at times. Pretty easy to figure out once I started in on it. This product seems to have a very good finish. Very durable and it was packaged so there was no damage in shipping. It came with a couple extra fasteners, but try not to lose any - I ended up having the exact amount of the #1 screws as I had a couple defective ones. If I came up short I would have had to go looking for another. I would recommend this gazebo to anybody who has a little mechanical aptitude and can follow directions. Two people would make it easier to assemble, but it can be done solo. I think it took me around twelve hours (didn't really keep track) to do the actual assembly. I spent a few more hours laying out where it would go and getting electric wired into it. I am adding lights, outlets, and a fan to it.

My wife and I are very happy with our Purple Leaf Gazebo. It looks elegant, well-made and is very easy to move it around for a preferred placement. It also feels very sturdy due to its design and construction. Overall it wasn’t too difficult to put together for me and my wife who helped me with the construction process. We are both handy and over 6 ft, but it would’ve been probably easier if we had an additional tall person helping during the construction of the initial struts of the roof. Also, there are times when one has to figure out how certain parts need to fit together, how far the screws need to be initially tightened in certain places, what goes on first and next, etc. etc. The instruction booklet that comes with the product is simple and the information in it is high-level, probably intentionally kept that way to prevent detail overload and confusion since there are many parts and screws to talk about. For us, the information in it was just enough to be able to quickly read and construct. One thing to mention are the plastic clips, which go on the angled edges of the aluminum roofing panels. They were somewhat of a challenge to keep in place, as they kept falling off easily and dropping through the separations between our deck’s planks. But we were able to quickly remedy that issue by using some clear tape to hold them in place which helped a lot when pushing those panels into their slots. And have no worries about using the clear tapes, because they get tucked into the slots and are no longer visible. Overtime they will probably come off or dissolve and breakaway. The plastic clips should stay in place because once they are tucked into their slots, they are there to stay whether or not the clear tape is holding them anymore. Overall, we only came across two holes that didn’t line up perfectly for screws to go in, but we used a drill to make the holes slightly wider to resolve that issue. And so, a few minor imperfections weren't a problem for us. We are very happy with the outcome, it looks great on our deck and I think it will stand the test of time going forward as well. We will most likely purchase another one to go on our hardscaped area in our backyard, as we put this one on our deck. In short, it’s a well-designed and sturdy product and we weren’t disappointed at all. Last but not least, AWESOME Customer Support! They made sure we received the boxes in a timely manner by staying in touch with us and sent construction videos. They left their phone numbers with us in case we had any questions or run into issues. And then, they consistently checked in with us to see if we had any further questions, when we start building and if we are missing parts, etc.

The final product looks great. The curtains and mosquito net are good quality. The gutters work as advertised and the whole design is sturdy. Having said that, putting this thing together was was an 10 hour experience I never want to have to live through again. First, one of the columns came significantly dented. Second, the directions were clearly written by someone who barely speaks English, and some of the steps I needed to go onto YouTube to figure out. The roof’s top cap was a nightmare to assemble. The rest of the roof defiantly requires 2 people and you need to line up 4 pieces simultaneously while balancing on a ladder. Fitting the curtains and netting onto the sliding hangers destroyed my fingers. At several points I was sure that whoever designed this is a sadist who wanted people to get as frustrated as possible without demanding a refund. Now that it is completely installed, it looks great. And after all that frustration, it better hold up. Go ahead and buy this, but only if you have some help and LOTS of patience.

This product is well designed and well made. There are some tricks to putting it together, keep reading. We bought this on AMZ from the manufacturer, Purple Leaf, which was great to work with. They answered questions quickly and even sent a supplementary video showing it being built. It arrived in 5 (about 100lb each) boxes over two days via FedEx Ground. No damage, packed very well There are no line by line instructions but instead a large booklet with adequate diagrams. Study these carefully as there is a lot of detail there pointing out little places where different screws go. We found it helpful to use small trays and egg crates to sort the parts and have them readily available - they come shrink wrapped on cardboard. KEEP the little numbers identifying the part with that part. Many screws look similar but are different! This is important. You will see people talking about the difficulty of installing the roof panels and yes, that was the hardest part. We left most of the assembly screws loose to help with this but that only helped a little. The instructions say to install the middle sections first - we missed this and struggled to get the middles in later. One pain point is the plastic clips you put on the edges of the roof panels before sliding them into the groove at the top. The metal is slippery, the plastic is slippery and they kept falling off trying to get them in. We finally used packing tape to hold them on and that worked. This is definitely a two-person job, three would be better at certain stages. We got it together over 4 days, might have been able to do it in three long days so plan accordingly. There are a lot of screws and steps to do it. Its a 63 page manual to give you a clue. We have it lag screwed to our redwood deck, I fear this is not enough in our high wind zone in Colorado so will be anchoring it better. Manufacturer told me its rated to 40 MPH winds but to 50 MPH if anchored in concrete. The manual shows you how to anchor right at the beginning. Be patient, go slow, double check which part goes where and it will come together. I love the finish on it - its a dappled brown and black metal that really looks classy as opposed to others with a matte finish. The fabric curtains and screens are extremely good quality also. Don't hesitate to ask Purple Leaf for help if needed!

The Positives. • Well-engineered and well thought out on the assembly. • Assembly instructions are all visual and at first glance a little daunting. But after studying them for a while you’ll be able to figure it out. • Comes with extra nuts, bolts, screws and spacers in case you lose a few. • Looks great. The Negative. • Mounting the center roof panels. See below under Assembly Tips. • One of the screens had a defective grommet. We are in the process of ordering a replacement screen and based on other reviews I anticipate no issues getting it replaced. Assembly Tips. • Search YouTube for assembly videos. That will give you a good overview of what to expect. • A two-person operation. Having someone good at visually seeing how pieces fit together is helpful. • Leaving the top roof frame loose until you fit the roof panels in place is helpful. • All four sides have two center roof panels that overlap and require spacers in two locations. The spacers sit between the frame and the roof panels. A bolt is threaded through the two roof panels and the spacer and screws into the frame. By far the hardest part of this assembly is fitting the roof panels into the slots at the top while ensuring they are aligned, along with the spacer, to the screw hole in the frame. Two people are required for this part. After two hours of being frustrated we could not get those in place I purchased Gorilla brand Mounting Putty. This is typically used to hang light weight items. In this case, I used them to hold the spacers in place. With the spacers firmly in place, I only had to focus on aligning the two panels over the spacer and slip the bolt in place. This worked amazingly well and cut the installation of the center roof panels to less than 5 minutes each. • Patience helps. There are a lot of bolts, nuts, spacers, screws and steps. It’s a 63-page manual to give you a clue. • Will take two to four days to assemble depending on your construction aptitude and amount of help.

I rarely leave reviews, but this one deserves it. I ordered a 12×24 and a 12×28 to create an L-shaped entertainment area. Early on I could tell Purple Leaf is a responsive company: they contacted me to confirm I truly meant to order two kits, and again as delivery approached to make sure I knew how to verify that all boxes had arrived. Seventeen boxes in total. The quality was much better than I expected. After watching various YouTube assembly videos and seeing earlier customer complaints, it’s clear the company has listened and made improvements. The curtain hooks have no flashing and slide easily, the roof edges go on without trouble, and we had very few problems during assembly. Parts are clearly marked, and each box includes inventory pages that make it easy to find what you need for each stage. There are separate instruction book for the 12×24 and 12×28 (though pages P and Q were missing from my 28-foot kit, so I just followed the 24-foot instructions). Thoughtful details include extra stickers for labeling containers, an organizer box for the hardware, and the fact that nearly all factory stickers end up hidden once assembly is complete. I expected a few bends and dings after seeing them in videos, and there were a couple, but not many. The boxes showed no damage, and one dent was on a piece in the middle of the stack, so they likely left the factory that way. Everything straightened easily and caused no issues. The roof panels were the hardest part; keeping the top rail bolts loose until everything was aligned made a big difference. I initially misplaced several U-bars and had to move them while installing the roof, but it was manageable. Helpers make that step easier, but it can be done alone. The curtains and mosquito netting are high quality and give the gazebo a real cabana feel when closed. We are extremely pleased with the kit, the company, and especially the finished result. This gazebo is one of the sturdiest I have found. Putting it together really wasn't that hard (other than the myriad of small screws and machine screws). My brother and I put it up in about 15 hours over a weekend. He had helped a friend put his up but said this was miles above as to quality. Neither of us are spring chickens so if you are young and strong probably less. Instructions were actually pretty good. Each step showed exactly where pieces went and what hardware to use. The only thing that we needed help with was setting the roof initially. That is NOT a 2 person job. Luckily I had a crew working on another project that helped but you will want at least 3-4 people for that. Also very good communication with Purple Leaf. Was originally scheduled to be delivered between April 23-27 but actually arrived on the 21st. We were informed by seller what to expect (4 boxes for gazebo) and they asked to be informed when they arrived. We had a heavy rain with some gusty winds yesterday without a leak. Curtains and netting are very heavy duty. All in all I was very impressed. Would definitely recommend.
