  • Excellent company support
Size: 10' x 12' Color: Grey Frame
This is a quality product and I would recommend it. It was very well packaged however there was one damage part that delayed installation. However, the company was very quick to respond and replace the part. This is definitely a two person job . The illustrations in the assembly manual could be clearer. Using a hex bit in my drill, made assembly much easier , however, use a drill with a clutch as the aluminum bolts strip easily ... show more

  • A Great Total Experience
Size: 10' x 12' Color: Grey Frame
The assembly of the 10x12 pergula went very smooth. All parts were received to do the assembly. The parts were all numbered and the instructions were very clear. The total assembly took 5 hours with 2 people. The louvered mechanism works very smooth. It's nice to adjust it when the sun is not wanted. The pergula is solid and well built. I would definitely recommend anyone to purchase this Purple Leaf Louvered Pergula. The companies customer service has contacted me twice and asked if everything went well with the assembly. So I was completely satisfied with total experience. ... show more

  • Great Pergola, but be prepared
Size: 13' x 15' Color: Grey Frame
Pergola is solid and instructions are pretty good. You will need at least two people to assemble rafters to posts. A couple of key points: 1) If you don’t have a cordless drill, get one. And get both 4mm and 6mm hex bits lest you want to get blisters assembling the top beams. You’re also going to need to borrow or rent a masonry drill if the posts will be mounted to concrete. Do not drill the holes any deeper than the casing on the expansion bolts themselves or you won’t be able to seat the washer, lock washer, and nut to the bolt. 2) I would not mount the posts to your patio/deck/footers until rafters are attached. You will need the “give and take” before determining their actual location. My hack for this was to mount the posts to concrete deck footers (see pic). 3) You’ll need at least one, preferably two 6’ ladders for assembly. Two steppers aren’t going to do it (and I’m 6’ 4”). 4) Before using the bolts that are required to tighten the rafters to the posts, make sure to stuff something in the opening at the top of the posts to prevent any dropped bolts from falling down the hollow posts (and thus having to disconnect the post from the footer). Would be nice if they were extra of these for when that situation occurs, but they give you an exact number.. 5) Tightening these bolts in the corners is a big PITA. Make sure to have hex bit holders for your socket set. Drill chucks will not allow you to get the bit seated. A flex drive for your cordless drill might help, but will not provide enough torque to fully secure the bolts. You’ll end up using the provided allen wrenches or your own to hand tighten everything to ensure they are fully seated. Mine (13x15) has been up for almost a week now and drainage works as promised. Using the deck footers with the pre cut slats underneath ensures water has an exit spot. Wish there was a way to mount a ceiling fan without drilling into center beam and compromising drainage system. Need to come up with a hack for this. Some type of clip that could hand from the gutter would be great. 7/2/26 Update: Pergola is good and drains as promised. Adding pics of a ceiling fan I added and the hack I used to create a ceiling mount without drilling into structure. Brackets can be bought any good hardware store. ... show more

  • Great looking pergola
Size: 10' x 12' Color: Grey Frame
Overall the pergola system is great. I installed the 9x12 ft system on the rooftop deck. It looks amazing. The material and finish quality are generally great. There are a few potential issues that the manufacturer could improve: (1) the connectors of the aluminum beams are made of steel, likely for higher strength. That leaves the potential problem of rusting overtime, especially for my location right next to the beach. I hope the process of rusting will be slow since these parts are inside the beams and are also well painted. I wish all parts were made of aluminum. (2) as rusting is concerned I wish the screws were stainless steel. (3) There is a minor design flaw for the center beam. It won’t assemble to a flush even position on the top with the main side beams as shown in the manual. Instead the top of the center beam sticks out about 1/3rd of an inch. That is not a problem though as you won’t even notice it when Louver blades are in place. Nevertheless the manufacturer should have provided a plastic cover to seal the opening to prevent water from flowing into the beams that could cause rusting over time (see 1 and 2). I will cut a piece of plastic to seal the opening myself. (4) The manufacturer could have offered fitting sun screens for the open sides. I ended up installing a 8ft screen that is not a perfect fit, and I have to drill holes on the bottom of the beam to mount it. The assembly process is relatively straightforward. It took me about 6 hours, mostly just by myself. I have a few tips for assembly: (1) Using an electric drill makes it a lot easier. (2) It can be done mostly by one person. Most of the work is to connect the five beams together with connectors. (3) I assemble the posts with the long side beams on the floor first. Now you need one more person to help putting up the frame to assemble the cross beams. (4) If you have the pergola in a location that doesn’t allow drilling, one good solution is to fix the bottom plate of the post with strong glue, e.g. epoxy. This is exactly what I did since I have the pergola on the rooftop deck where I don’t want to drill the tiles to break the water seals. The price for a system like this can cost up to $20K with installation included. I paid just over $2K for this system. The overall quality and appearance are great! Looking forward to enjoying it for a long time. ... show more

  • A very nice addition to a backyard patio
Size: 10' x 12' Color: Grey Frame
This Pergola comes in 4 large boxes ready for assembly (one of which was damaged in shipping that the supplier resolved pretty quickly). Took me and another adult about 3.5 hrs to assemble (not counting the forthcoming cassions). Assembly was not difficult. The product appears to be well constructed. ... show more

  • Good Value for the Money
Size: 10' x 14' Color: Grey Frame
So you have perspective, I'm 60 years old and a Mechanical Engineer. I have every tool at my disposal and have built, assembled, and constructed everything my wife and I have. This pergola is well designed and assembles relatively simple. The kit provided extra screws and no nuts were required. I assembled it myself (do not recommend to others). This took a bit more planning and careful lifting, so it took me about 8 hours to set up. My only advice is to take your time setting the posts. It is very easy to end up with a post not vertical and it's very noticeable. Not to mention makes assembly a nightmare. My only worry is about how long it will last. The materials used for all parts are thin wall cheap steel. I was planning on bolting a fan to one of the posts but don't think it would hold up. Immediately after receiving the pergola (6 large boxes) I checked for damage or missing parts. I discovered 2 of the posts had been dented despite no damage to the box. Through Amazon I was able to contact the seller and get the problem solved. The actually sent the entire box (4 posts) to me. It was interesting that again 2 of the 4 posts were damaged in the same place but the box looked good. I'd thought someone in quality would have checked them over before packing but who knows. Overall I would buy again today, but check back in a few years. ... show more

  • Great, but no roller shades available
Size: 10' x 16' Color: Grey Frame
Easy to set up. Almost no dents or scratches during transit. Does shield from sun and heavy rain. The only reason I gave it 3 stars is because when I bought it, it said roller shades were available. I was later told that was not the case.
