I LOVE this pergola! My landscaper installed it on a concrete pad and he said it was an easy assembly. It has extended my living space and I have already had several fun pergola parties. I love the fact that the louvers can be opened and closed and they work seamlessly. Being a metal pergola, I love that it is maintenance free compared to wood pergolas. So far in Texas we have had up to 50 mile an hour winds and the pergola does sway a bit but it remains intact. Of course the Pergola has been batten down per instructions to the concrete slab with bolts. I am always careful to open the louvers if Highwinds or snow or ice are expected. Customer service with this company is awesome. There was damage to two louvers in shipping and they replaced the two louvers plus extra louvers. They were great about communicating in a timely fashion During the whole process. Update 4/29/2022: My area has had 65 mph straight line winds and the pergola is still intact! ... show more

When we rebuilt and extended our deck we knew we wanted to install a pergola on top to protect us from the brutal southern summer sun. After researching multiple options, including the fully custom pergolas, we landed on Purple Leaf for the features, price and availability. We couldn't be happier with that decision. After ordering, the structure came in 6 large boxes via freight courier in about 2 weeks. Fortunately I have a front-end loader with pallet forks which made it easy to unload and move to the back. Assembly instructions were easy to follow and every single piece labeled. Took 2 people about 6 hours to complete setup. The louvers are "directional" meaning you'll want to ensure they open/close toward the sun. We discovered this halfway through and took 6 people to rotate it - don't repeat our mistake. With the louvers closed all but heavy rains are diverted through channels and down the posts keeping everything underneath nice and dry. We recently had 8" of snow fall and I didn't get the louvers opened in time. So for about 4 days the pergola carried this load without any problems. It's built to last. Overall we're very happy customers and bought a second one that we put end to end with the first to cover the full 50'+ of our deck. It looks great and we get compliments all the time. ... show more

We love the pergola, exactly what we wanted. Looks great, sturdy and it completes our back yard. It also give our backyard the neccessary shade we need for the summer time. The louvers are a great feature, open and close your option. It did take a while to get the nuts and bolts, they were missing from everything else we got. Purple Leaf the manufacture did work to get them sent to us. Purple Leaf Customer service was great, they always kept us informed. ... show more

This pergola was the perfect finishing touch to my deck remodel. It looks great and after a extra rainy and windy winter here in San Francisco I can say it's sturdy too. As a bonus, the customer service is great. The deck remodel ran long, and didn't actually get around to installing the pergola until several months after it was delivered. When I opened the box I found that a few of roof panels we damaged during shipping. Even though months had gone by Purple Leaf made things right without a lot of fuss or hassle. This Pergola is great and customer service was great too, I never really needed anything but they were always reaching out and very responsive. As you can see, I did end up modifying it a bit in order to attach it to my house. I had custom pillars made out of PVC in order to make it taller and be able to clear my sliding door and kitchen window, Also l each corner is left open and without the back posts we were left with unfinished/opened corners so I had a PVC board installed on the house around the back beam (which was drilled and anchored into the house's wall studs) this filled in that gap nicely and looks sharp with my corner boards which are also PVC. If I were to make any changes or suggestions to the manufacturer, it would be to make the posts taller (which can be cut shorter if anyone ever needed) and to supply 2 trim pieces for the back corners for people looking to attach to their home, like I did. Not deducting anything from my overall rating as I got what I ordered, but it would have been nice to have it taller from the factory at the very least. This pergola is also easy to "open" and "close" and is water tight when closed. We've had some heavy rain and stayed dry underneath. The built in gutter system is remarkable. ... show more
