Parts for roof sliders flimsy and we didn’t install. Still water tight. Didn’t follow directions of installing roof on base as it was too tall. Used four people to place assembled roof on top of base then secured to base. We found this easier with the same final result! If this method is used build roof near by on a flat surface so it is square. Any alignment issues causes the metal roof pieces to not slide in. Other than that it was easy set up with 2 people. We are using this gazebo as a carport as the garage previously attached to the house blocked out all sun on the east side of our home. We wanted something to cover the vehicle, but not cut out all the light. This served our purposes well. We have the 12x20 and it's perfect for our vehicle to protect it from sap in the spring/summer, the leaves in the fall, and ice in the winter. My husband did the construction virtually by himself and he said it was almost easier that way. I helped with panels and bolts that required one person on one side feeding the bolt in and another to attach the buffers and nuts. I purchased a solar light and secured it to the structure just to have a bit of light in the evening. One tip is that if you are putting it next to a structure like this, you won't be able to easily secure the bolts midway up the roof. Another is to read through the instructions BEFORE you start to know what to expect down the line (don't tighten until you're about finished). Also, a good drill with a hex head is essential, metal cutters in some areas, and 2 people can easily do this. It is time consuming, but ours was finished in three weekends. One item to note is that PurpleLeaf's customer service is exemplary. I had several questions that they answered in a timely manner and they were interested in the finished photos, which I sent to them. What can I say. This experience has been so much better than I anticipated. Delivery came 2 days early, was nicely packed. Everything was in the box. Instructions were easy to understand. I needed 1 other person for 1 part about 10 min help on The first long roof rafter. Other than that I completed it myself. Over a weekend. Customer support contacted me in advance of delivery. I had 1 piece that was slightly bent (my own doing) they worked closely with me to replace the piece. I ultimately said never mind it wasn't a big deal cause it was a corner top piece and once installed you couldn't see anything. Amazing customer service. Only thing I wish I would have known, the 12x16 came with black mesh net. There is a track for a mesh screen and for a privacy screen. Privacy screen not included ($230) but Im def getting one. All in all, very happy with my purchase. Privacy screen and a gazebo heater will let me enjoy the space year round. ... show more

Great product. I did get help with assembly and 2 people took about 6 hours to put this together. Overall feels very sturdy and held up really well in the recent windstorms. I ordered the 10x12 and it definitely feels bigger than that! Excellent customer service as well and they check up on you at different times right from when the product is shipped out. I love the look of my gazebo. The last one was canvas and due to a heavy snow storm, it got demolished. This one came with so many pieces which made it very time consuming to put together. One of the pieces has a small dent in it and some of the bolts throughout the roof didn’t line up. We ended up using caulk to attach a bolt to seal the hole. Hoping that it lasts for years to come. I ordered the 12x20. I had it in my cart for quite some time. I was concerned about such a big purchase. I am so glad I decided to make the purchase! It is beautiful, sturdy, and the customer service is great. One of the boxes was damaged in travel, one item was dented. (Didn’t affect anything, just looks) any issue we had they made it right. Shipping was quick, customer service responded quickly as well. They sent an email when it was sent and stayed in contact to make sure I was satisfied. The gazebo itself is gorgeous! The quality is really nice, especially for the price. The screen is thick. I’m very happy with my purchase and plan to buy another gazebo in the spring. If you’re debating, go for it. The directions were good. We went ahead and unwrapped all pieces and laid them out on the patio, checking them off the part list. Once we knew all pieces were there, we went step by step and it took us two days to finish. Having to take quite a few breaks because…kids. :) The roof was a little bit a struggle, but that’s just because my husband was doing that part on his own, only one ladder. ... show more

Size: 12' X 16'
I was able to assemble 90% of this by myself. I had help with the largest 4 roof panels and initial frame setup. The 4 largest panels were several inches too long and required sheet metal sheers to trim the ends. Maybe they were for a larger model? Only a few holes had to be drilled or expanded then filled with dark sealant. One other part was 1/2 inch too long requiring a saw. Other than those 5 parts and a little silicone I was able to put this together without much problem. I found it best to work early in the day when it was cool. During heat and high sun parts expanded making bolt holes difficult to line up. The directions are just pictures so figuring out methods is up to installer. Leave roof and roof rail bolts loose to allow for fitting it all together then tighten everything at the end. ... show more
