I am a professional handyman. I built this gazebo on a raised deck all by myself. Had the wife help tighten a few screws that I couldn't reach myself. For the most part, everything fit together as it should have. A few places had a little difficulty lining things up, but I got them. I did have a couple items that had manufacturing defects. Two of the posts had tabs that were welded on crooked. No way to bend them back without breaking them off, so I enlarged the holes and screwed the beams on to them. Still plenty of strength as there are more screws holding these parts together. They offered some kind of discount or the replace the posts but I did not want to wait for new ones to arrive. Made it work and I'm happy. I followed a YouTube video's advice and separated/organized all the parts. Used little plastic containers for fasteners (labeling them) which really made it easy to use the right ones. This thing went together pretty easy even though the directions were a little vague at times. Pretty easy to figure out once I started in on it. This product seems to have a very good finish. Very durable and it was packaged so there was no damage in shipping. It came with a couple extra fasteners, but try not to lose any - I ended up having the exact amount of the #1 screws as I had a couple defective ones. If I came up short I would have had to go looking for another. I would recommend this gazebo to anybody who has a little mechanical aptitude and can follow directions. Two people would make it easier to assemble, but it can be done solo. I think it took me around twelve hours (didn't really keep track) to do the actual assembly. I spent a few more hours laying out where it would go and getting electric wired into it. I am adding lights, outlets, and a fan to it.

Quality built, and looks fantastic. Very sturdy, and not difficult to put together for two people. Instructions are well thought out and easy to follow. Curtains and mosquito netting are heavy duty. And on top of that, communications with customer service was excellent. Answered all my questions and took care of all minor issues rapidly.

Let me start off by giving the information most people are looking for, then I will go into some details. First of all, yes I highly recommend this product, it is a high quality product and best bang for your buck out there. It is possible to do this alone if you have a few ladders to prop the top up as you secure it. There are a few minor, and I want to emphasize the word minor, things I would improve in terms of build design. (1) The plastic clips can be annoying to deal with on the roof (use a small bit of tape to hold in place, problem solved). (2) The top of the mesh lining up top could be secured better by design. (again, can be solved with some double sided black tape). (3) The two sphere decorations on the top are impossible to tighten once you install them so make sure you do it while you can. (4) The plastic curtain hooks could be a better quality,, work fine though. (5) The installation manual is only images. I've seen a lot of people complain about this but I went ahead and bought it anyways and let me tell you, it is not a big deal. The images are super clear, the directions are basically drawn for you. So much so that i would look at the details of the CAD image when I had a question and you can clearly see the smallest details that can tell you which way a piece is supposed to be oriented, etc. It's not a big deal. Would some text help? Yea sure. The product took 2 days to install with 2 people but that is only because I went slow on purpose to do it right. Once it is finished, its worth it all. This is a must buy if you are in the market and debating between this unit or others. 10/10, would buy again.

I rarely do a review...but felt pulled to do so. This is an extremely well engineered product & looks & performs amazing once completed. I am a builder & have built & engineered many wood gazebos & structures, & I definately could have designed & built a similar sized gazebo for the same price point, given with me doing the labor, & definetely a whole lot faster giving the shipping problems, but I wanted to give this a try. The order processed Quickly but the time it took to recieve from shipping co. was excessive. Purple leaf was very comunicative that i would need to be there & I was to expect 4 boxes...& 4 boxes I eventually got...but duplicate of one box & missing another completely, only realized on the day I was laying out all the parts to build it for a special event. Deck is prepped & cleared with parts everywhere. Contacted Purple Leaf, sent them pics, etc. they fixed/remedied immediately...great customer service on their part. But again, the shipping co. It was over a monthbefore i recieved the missing, broken, demolished box of broken, scratched & dented parts. It Fell out of the truck with parts litterally falling everywhere & it looked like it got run over a few time by huge tires. ( & they wouldent take the duplicate 150lb box away so now I have that time & expense to get rid of) I had already spent another day collecting & cleaning the old parts after a storm so I sucked it up & refabricated & hammered & bent every messed up pice to work so that is did not have to wait another 2-3 months for another box or go through the nightmare of returning it whin it is not the manufactures fault, a lil touch up paint & my wife & kids & guests barrely notice any defects. In all honesty, except for the time to reshape all the messed up pieces, it took me by myself 10 hours to build it. I can see if you are a do it yourself person this can be an amazing product & save you some money...but my time was worth way more than the extraneous frustration of this. Again amazed at the precision as almost every hole & bolt lined up correctly..I have never seen this on any scale with a pre-fabricated product. Curtains & screens & gutters are great. Definately had to do a few thin s in a different order of operaton than the lackluster directions. Great job purple leaf...booo to the shipping Company.
