I have a non-verbal ASD son who is very adept at getting into things, sometimes to his detriment. He's gotten into the cabinet and started chowing down raw flour (which is actually dangerous) and it's been a constant battle to figure out new ways of at least delaying him from getting into things without us around to help him. So far this is the best solution we've come up with. We have several different kinds of locks (magnetic, standard locks) and we can put the keys inside this and lock it up quickly and easily. We hang it from the handle of a door near the fridge and thus far he hasn't been able to defeat it. It's probably only a matter of time before he figures out the combo but in the mean time this works well. The combo is easy to reset and change and the overall construction is adequate. For keeping an ASD kid away from the keys to the cookies it's perfectly fine. But I wouldn't necessarily trust it so serious scrutiny, a sharp whack with a hammer or, god help you, the lockpicking lawyer. ... show more
