It works for what it’s for. It’s not intended to be used on something of high value as I’m sure it could be cut or smashed off fairly easy. However, it’s meant for a little bike lock, or locker at work/school, or something basic. The combo changing feature works well and is nice.

Update: the locking mechanism will not close unless it's on your combination. So you have to close it first before randomizing the numbers on combination. Just about every other lock in existence let's you lock and close it after randomizing the combination otherwise it just springs open again. No such spring loaded mechanism here. Therefore I've updated the review as it's usable, but it could have been explained better. Junk. Followed the instructions exactly to set a combination and it will not set; the shackle will not close on either lock.

I'm revising my 1 Star review due to Puroma's excellent Customer Service. I sent them an email and also left a 1 Star review when my first order came in as 2 faulty locks. They were quick to respond and immediately sent me 2 brand new locks that work perfectly. I haven't had enough time to test the new locks but here's hoping they last for a good amount of time. Thanks, Puroma! _____________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Cheap and affordable is what got my attention. Unfortunately, the products are exactly that, CHEAP and faulty. Long story short, both of the locks they sent me do not work. The first lock, I set it accordingly and managed to open the lock and went about the rest of the instructions. I inputted my own combination, but when I tried opening it, my combination doesn't work. I tried resetting it by again using their codes but it will not open. The second one, I did the same thing. It opened for me to set. I set my new combination, but when I went to lock it, it will not lock as if something is stuck in there. I understand that things can be faulty and not always work accordingly, but two brand new locks with obvious mishaps were sent to me. Do they not test the locks before leaving the facility? This is simply unacceptable. Very unhappy with my purchase.

They're not durable enough to keep a determined thief out of your stuff, but they're perfect for the gym or a suitcase. The quality seems high enough for low security needs - the barrels and lock move smoothly. My only complaint, and it goes across the board, is the shininess of the tumblers, that makes them hard to read under bright locker room lights.. But all comb locks seem to be the same. For the people who say you 'can't set the comb', you have to push DOWN on the shackle, hard, before it takes. Like all cheap Chinese crap, the instructions suck, but they do work and they are cheap. Good for what they are.
