  • Exactly what I wanted in a mattress pad; excellent value for price
Color: Down Alternative Size: Full
This mattress pad was delivered a few hours ago, and I have not yet put it on the guest bed mattress. One reviewer had written that the pad had a strong, offensive odor when new and that it took four launderings to reduce the odor to a tolerable degree before it could be used. Although the description of the pad fit all of my criteria, I was hesitant to place the order but decided to take a chance. Immediately out of its plastic packing bag, I detected no odor at all. Completely odorless, and I have a sensitive nose.. I buy a mattress pad to protect the mattress, as well as to hide the mattress that has survived several moves and years on the guest bed. Loft is not among my criteria. 100% cotton on top and bottom is getting increasingly difficult to find; either predominantly polyester or !00% polyester seems to be a trend. This cotton is soft and soundless, not crinkly. I have no reservations about what I consider to be excellent value for the price. As a bonus, it comes packed in a recyclable and handy well-constructed heavy plastic bag with a two-way zipper that wraps around the length and both sides and a substantial carry handle. I recommend this product.. If one is seeking a lofty mattress pad, this is not the one for you. I estimate its thickness as not more than 3/4 inch, and probably less. To me, that is an advantage. ... show more

  • An Upgrade for a 27 year old down topper. Superior. Very comfortable. Highly Recommend
Color: Down Alternative and Feather Size: King
We’re upgrading some old sleeping options after 27 years in our house. We have a v wry firm old foal mattress. Local mattress monger made long before memory foam was a word. We love it, firm and had given us many years of good sleep. We had to add LL Bean, down feather bed on top of it to mattress more comfortable. Recently we decided to get rid of old down top and replaced with this one. We love it. We were worried about replacing a product that had serviced us for so many years. Our old topper was a giant down behemoth with no channel stitching. This new one is Great. Has patchwork stitching which keeps down in little pockets and retains the shapes a fluff ability that our old one did not. My wife and I are 60 and we were skeptical about replacing our old one. This new one is Superior. We sleep great and neither of has any back problems. Upgraded our sleeping tool without having to buy a new mattress. G ... show more

  • Thank you.
Color: Down Alternative and Feather Size: Full
I have had back pain for so long and adding this topper to my bed has helped sooo much. I have only slept on it two nights but can say so far I have gotten up without back pain. This topper is amazing. Waking without back pain is wonderful. I also have arthritis in my hip and am a side sleeper. Painful to sleep on my side. This is truly wonderful because so far, NO pain. Thank you, thank you. ... show more

  • Very Breathable
Color: Down Alternative and Feather Size: King
I got this topper because I have a fairly firm mattress and I found my shoulder and hip were numb when I woke up because I don't move around much when I sleep. I also needed something that didn't sleep "hot" like memory foam does. I coupled this with a 2" memory foam, using the foam for a bottom layer and this on top. I put a cotton-top protector over the whole thing and it is working great so far. I find it is somewhat soft but not squishy, which gives me a backache, and the whole thing seems to allow for air circulation / heat dispersal under my body so I'm not sweating and the pressure points are relieved. I have not noticed any odor so far--maybe that was a problem addressed by the company? I don't plan on washing it often so cannot rate it on that--typically putting it outside a day in the hot summer sun and plenty of airing is the best practice here--that's what they did in the days of featherbeds. I got this as a warehouse deal in king size for around one hundred dollars and for my purposes I consider it worth the money. I don't know long-term how it will hold up, but I'm fluffing and turning it when I change the sheets and hopefully that will help with compression. I would describe it more as a mattress topper in that it is true that it is not super-soft and lofty as opposed to a true "featherbed", which should be, and as a padded mattress topper it is so far delivering pretty well. Hope this helps if you are undecided. ... show more

  • great for stomach and side sleepers
Color: Down Alternative and Feather Size: King
I think I"ve finally found the one. Long story short my old mattress was all hills and valleys but still under warranty so the company sent me a new 'comparable' mattress.. some silly memory foam hybrid thing that felt soft until you hit what appeared to be concrete underneath.. . I used to wake up with such back pain from that mattress that we considered buying a new one, but I hated to throw away a brand new King sized mattress.. I tried just about every bed topper from gel foam, to hypoallergenic toppers and nothing worked... except for this one. It offers just the right amount of firmness and softness. I tend to sleep on my side, and then end up on my stomach and with this topper, I haven't woken up with a backache at all. ... show more

  • Wanted to give 5 stars
Color: Down Alternative Size: Full
First the Pros. The quality of this cover is excellent. The top quilted area is cotton but, most importantly the underneath is cotton. I am not wasting anymore money on mattress pads that have the bottom made from some cheap synthetic paper material that disintegrates and or turns into massive amount of balls. The filling does not ball up with washing. The thread and stitching are great with no loose or broken threads. The sides are of strong stretchy polyester material with elastic all around making for an excellent fit even on a 9 inch mattress with 2 inch memory foam topper. It will fit a deeper mattress. Now the Cons and the reason for 3 stars. It arrived with a chemical smell so strong that was not something you would want to sleep on. I proceeded to wash and dry it 4 times. I aired it out for days in between washes to see if that would help. The smell seemed to be coming from the batting in the quilted top. It finally stopped smelling bad after the fourth wash. Next, It shrunk about 3 inches in width. It was only dried on the low dryer setting and hung to air dry to finish. I am attaching pictures. It did not shrink much in length and still fits lengthwise. So, I really like the quality of this cover but, the smell and shrinkage make it difficult to recommend. ... show more
