Description

95% of Americans don't eat enough fish, which means they are not getting enough EPA and DHA Omega-3s without supplementation. Oily fish, like salmon or Pollock, are good sources of eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) and docosahexaenoic (DHA) Omega-3 fatty acids. Fish oil supplementation and regular consumption of oily fish are two ways to ensure adequate intake of EPA and DHA fatty acids, as the human body cannot make these vital fats. Not all fish oils are created equal. The type and quality of fish, where it comes from, how the oil is extracted and its final form are all important factors to maximize the delivery of nutrients necessary to supplement a healthy diet. Two Pure Alaska Omega Wild Salmon Oil softgels deliver 600mg Omega-3 Fatty Acids One serving per day is equivalent to two portions of cooked salmon per week Made in the USA using wild caught salmon from the cold clean waters of the North Pacific Proprietary low temperature extraction method A balanced fish oil that delivers all omega fatty acids in natural triglyceride (nTG) form Consumption of EPA and DHA Omega-3 fatty acids supports healthy cognitive function, normal visual development, normal brain development, heart health, healthy triglyceride levels, and maintaining healthy blood pressure. Eating oily fish is the best way to get your Omega-3s (including EPA and DHA). The next best way is to take Pure Alaska Omega Wild Alaskan Salmon Oil!

  • Good Enough for Our Cat :-)
Size: 180 Count (Pack of 1)
The main reason we bought these salmon oil capsules was for our cat who has dandruff. Although my husband and I plan to take them too. I'd say that's pretty good justification for spending over $25 on a bottle of vitamins, if almost ever member of the family benefits :) Anyway, when the vet noticed our cat's coat was a bit rough and dandruffy, he recommending popping a fish oil into her food. We thought this was a great, cheap alternative to prescribed medication because we already had a bottle of fish oil at home -- lucky us! -- we thought. But at the time I wasn't well-researched in the fine subject of fish oil supplements, and definitely didn't realize that like everything else you consume, the source, the storage, and the freshness of the fish oil DOES matter. At least that's what I'm now reading everywhere. And it makes sense -- It's an oil AND fish product, so no wonder it tends to go rancid easily! We were feeding our little female cat the RegularBrand capsules we had in our medicine drawer. We placed a few drops in 1 of the approx 5 wet food cans that she and her brother share each day. It was definitely a struggle to get her to eat the food with the fish oil. We basically had to refuse her a new can of food until she took at least a few bites of the fishy concoction. Amazingly, there was a noticeable improvement in her coat! We were so happy -- but since all seemed well, and feeding the "vitamin can" was such a hassle, we let the fishy ritual die. Soon her coat was back to the way it was. Finally I realized that the quality of the supplements probably had something to do with her distaste. I did my research and eventually chose these. It's day 4 of feeding the new "vitamin can" and again we are happy :) But this time it's because she actually likes her food! She is a picky eater anyway, but with a mysterious substance mixed into her food, you can forget about it. And after being forced to eat rotten smelly old fish food, I don't blame her. Now she eats her food like the salmon oil is enhancing it! She is very particular, and if she isn't completely satisfied with what you put in front of her, she will walk away and wait for something better. But she immediately started vacuuming-up all 4 of the cans I drizzled with this stuff. Yay! I keep these capsules in the refrigerator so they'll stay as fresh as possible. I do hope they really are derived from wild salmon, because I hear that makes a difference. There IS a color difference between these capsules and the average value brand fish oil you see in supermarkets. ... show more
