Each episode gets better and better. De Giovanni weaves so much emotion into all his characters along with the inner workings of their minds; their fears and anger, their misgivings and disillusionment, their misguided plans and schemes. And finally some real.resolutions are on the horizon.

I really love both series of this author. The way he weaves the joys and sorrows together is stunning and reflect real life. The novel is so rich with character development. The only thing that could be improved is faster writing and translation!

I really like this series. It is similar to Ed McBain's books, but takes place in Naples. The cast of characters is diverse and interesting, and I wait impatiently for the next installment. Highly recommended if you like police procedurals.

Maurizio de Giovanni is one of my favorite Italian mystery writers. I’ve read all of his books. I especially love his commissaries Ricciardi mysteries. Good stuff.
