Description

Two piece HSS Inboard Scraper Set LCSIDE2. These heavy duty round end inboard side scrapers are equipped with thick, stable blades so you can cut aggressively without vibration. These chisels are ideal for making final cuts inside bowls. The scrapers have a radius designed to easily shear the wood and create a clean smooth finish. Larger Scraper is 19" overall length with a blade 6" long x 1" wide and 3/8" thick. Smaller Scraper is 16" overall length with a blade 6" long x 3/4" wide and 5/16" thick. From the Manufacturer A Round Side Cut Scraper blade for turners who prefer to make their own handles. Designed for blending the parallel side wall and the curved bottom of vessels and boxes together. It is excellent for undercutting the rims of small bowls.

These are amazing quality for the price. You couldn't ask for better. They are thick and heavy duty, also very straight and true. They seem to be of quality high speed steel. They come mildly sharp but are easy to sharpen. I tend to put custom edges on my tools anyway. They are nicly balanced and comfortable to use. If someone told me they were more expensive, I'd believe them. The case is a nice added feature although I tend to keep all my tools together. ... show more

    • Good set of side scrapers for turning bowls
Ordered this set off Amazon to finish a project before Christmas. These chisels are designed to scrape the inside edge of a turned bowl and feature both a side cutting as well as a rounded edge to create a smooth transition from the side to the bottom of the bowl. Both chisels are fairly well made and give good results once sharpened. They are quite substantial, both in the thickness of the metal as well as the length. Not as pretty as some high end tools like sorby or crown, but as long as they do what they are designed to do, I'm happy. Very good value for the money. And they come in a tool roll that you could use if you wanted to go on a woodturning tour. ... show more

Nice, heavy tool, but dull as hell.
