Great pruners. I like the locks on them. The small ones are good to deadhead my roses. The middle size are great for trimming perennials. The large ones are great for small branches and cutting back my bigger perennials in the fall. A great price! I may order another set for my daughter who has a small garden. I used the gloves yesterday and I don't usually wear gloves. Glad that I did because my hands would have been awful while cleaning out some planter boxes. The I also used them to transplant some of my perennials. The finger tips have a nice rubber covering and I actually dug some holes with the the finger tips of the gloves vs. getting my garden spade. Wow, what a handy set of shears. Whether trimming delicate house plants, garden plants, or pruning small tree branches, these get the job done.     • I definitely got my money's worth with the gloves alone; the tools are a bonus.
My order came quickly, and the tools seem sturdy and sharp; no looseness in the hinges and the locking mechanism worked as it should. I can lock and unlock them with one hand, so I can hold the plant stem with one hand while using the desired tool. The gloves are rubberized and should be great for dealing with any plants that have thorns. I don't have roses, but I do have an asparagus fern that has small needles that can be painful. I have other similar tools, but I particularly wanted the narrow-bladed pruner for deadheading flowers with more precision. ... show more

The garden clippers work for smaller jobs. They are a little too flimsy to tackle a thick rose stalk, but the work fine too trim off the spent blooms. Plus it's a multiple pack so I can leave a pair in several handy spots.
