Very nice black PLA. I have used other Proto-pasta PLA's such as their metal composite with superb results as well. Consistent first layer, solid subsequent layers with no chalking or stringing. Initial bed temp, and printing temps need to be dialed in a bit hotter for this HTPLA for the best results, such as bed adhesion and layer smoothness. The quality was worth the price. Amazon shipped this alone in just a padded bag, and some portions of the cardboard filament roll were folded over in transit, since it was not packed in a box. No biggie it straightened out ok, but had it been worse the roll could have been damaged. (Proto-pasta, please consider a box for your products :) ) .

The filament prints really well but I have noticed the material seems to vary quite a bit as far as optimal temps. When I first printed with this spool 210C was working really well but after using probably 1/4 of the spool I had to increase temps to 235 to avoid under extruding. It wasn't a big deal it just seems worth noting. Another thing that may just be bad luck - my spool had quite a few severe tangles that caused two prints to fail. The heat treating isn't as hard as some make it out to be. Ideally use something that has a window on it, heat to 212F - 220F and keep an eye on it. I checked my print about every 3 minutes and waited for the gloss to disappear. One important note about the heat treating: do not anneal object with infill below 100% because the object will shrink and could warp with lower infill. Overall, I would certainly buy again.

This PLA gold glitter color is beautiful! doesn't feel very strong but it looks amazing. However the spool is really cheap, normally its made of hard plastic or cardboard, this is a soft cardboard, the filament gets loose and runs over the cardboard.

Good filament once I dialed in the temperature. A little more fussy than PLA, but you'll get the hang of it. I found the best settings for my Ender 3 are 220C nozzle, 65C bed for 1st layer, then 60C; I don't use any bed adhesive on my magnetic/flexible bed. The videos online show easy heat treating, don't be fooled. Depending on your part geometry, you may experience warping that will make a dimensionally accurate part unusable. I'm wanting to experiment with heat treating in tightly packed sand for support. Once heat treated, you'll notice a significant increase in strength. I have not yet tried a heat treated part in boiling water.
