Top Amazon Reviews

  • The reviews I watched and read didnt lie...
I wanted to write an initial review after just spending a handful of hours sitting on this chair. Packaging + Assembly: My first reaction to the packaging alone was extremely positive. Each panel of the chair was packaged extremely nicely with every part being labeled. Instructions were very straightforward, and it took me about 20 minutes to get the chair up and running. The presentation of the unboxing alone gave me such a great first impression, and it really feels like ProtoArc is showing that it's not here to play games. Design: ProtoArc really thought about several aspects of how an office chair should be properly designed. From the multiple ways you can reposition the headrest, to the seat cushion extending forward, to the reclining angles. The armrest would be nice to be able to turn them inwards like some gaming chairs, but the armrest alone are very wide, and made of this very supportive, soft plastic material, so it provides a very comfortable place to rest your elbows/arms. Also the height adjustability actually aids with proper wrist elevation off the desk which I'm extremely happy about. Lastly, the fact that you can adjust the lumbar support both low to high as well as in and out, provides quality support, and if you can find the correct position will definitely reduce the amount of slouching you'll be performing in most other chairs. I dont move around much in my chair, nor do I have a lot of room to roll around so I can't comment on the factory casters, but they do seem to be good quality and don't rattle or make unnecessary noises, and also are smooth when I need to roll the chair back to exit my workspace. Comfort: Again, this is just an initial reaction after using the chair for just a few hours, but so far I am extremely happy with the comfort I've been experiencing. The cushion is truly supportive while still being soft. I wouldn't mind if it had a bolster on the sides, but I do understand that this chair is meant for many different shapes and sizes of people. But overall the cushion is padded really well, and has a medium resistance to it where you're not sinking in it and feeling the skeleton of the seat support, and not too hard where you feel like youre sitting on a park bench. The fact that you can position the seat cushion more forward actually takes pressure off your back and hips since the seat supports my legs more from the knees up to my hamstrings and glutes. I can't exactly comment on the breathability at this point in time as it is currently cold in my house, but I'm sure its going to be great in the summer where breathability is going to be of huge importance to stay cool. Final thoughts: Honestly I'm kinda surprised you can get this type of chair at the price point, and really think this seat COULD sell at a higher price, but am so thankful it doesnt! I don't have any experience whatsoever with really high end brand office chairs, and have only really purchased or sat on $100 and below office chairs, so to me, this is a significant upgrade - especially at the price (currently $189). I am so happy I returned the really crappy chair that I had just bought in exchange for this one instead, as I have to be at my desk for long long hours, and was really looking for something that was going to offer really good support, function, and at the end of the day budget friendly. If you're looking to get one, really there shouldn't be any doubt or hesitation. Once you get yours I'm fairly certain you'll have the same experience as I did. ... show more

  • Way better than my old chair, didn’t expect to like it this much
I swapped out my old mesh gaming chair for this one and honestly didn’t think it would make that big of a difference, but it really did. The first thing I noticed was the lumbar support. It actually hits the right spot even when I’m leaning forward a little, which is something my old chair (and even the Herman Miller I use at work) doesn’t do that well. My back just feels supported all the time, and after a few hours of gaming I’m not aching or shifting around trying to get comfortable anymore. The seat is also way nicer. My old chair was basically stretched mesh over hollow plastic, so if that ever loosened it would’ve been game over. This one actually has a cushion, and it just feels more stable when you sit down. Same thing with the base, it’s metal, not that hollow plastic stuff. You can feel the difference immediately. I like how the chair lets you lean back without having to flip a lever or anything. Just lean and it follows you. It’s nice when you want to relax for a minute or even when you’re gaming and need to chill for a bit. My old chair leaned back too, but it never felt this smooth. I will say the armrest and desk clearance depends on how thick your desk’s top panel is. Mine has a pretty chunky underside, so if the seat and armrests are both set too high, the armrest posts touch the bottom edge when I try to push the chair in. If I lower the seat a little, the armrest pads become the tallest point, and those usually clear it… but it’s close. I also have a COB LED strip under my desk, so I kind of have to watch it so I don’t scrape it. If your desk is thinner underneath, you probably won’t run into any of that. The chair came with a full instruction booklet instead of one tiny sheet like my old chair had. That alone kinda tells you how much more is going on in the build. Everything feels more thought-out and just… better. I ended up swapping the stock plastic casters for a set of dual-wheel PU casters I bought on Amazon, and the chair rolls way smoother and way quieter now. Total difference. Caster stuff is pretty much personal preference though, some people stick with the ones that came with the chair, some like the single “rollerblade” style ones, I just happened to go with the dual-wheel version and it did exactly what I wanted. As for the protection plan, I didn’t grab it. I had a bad experience with a different provider (SquareTrade), and this chair doesn’t really have the kind of parts that tend to fail under normal home or desk use anyway. Stuff like mesh stretching or cushions softening aren’t covered, and the mechanical parts it does cover almost never break if you’re just using the chair normally. Plus at this price point, chairs like this are kind of “replaceable” if something ever did go wrong years from now. Overall, for what I paid (I got it on sale for $164), this thing blew my old chair out of the water. More comfortable, better built, and I actually sit straighter without even trying. Super happy with it so far. ... show more

  • Great Adjustable Ergonomic Chair with Strong Back Support (Slightly Firm Seat)
I’ve been using the ProtoArc EC200 ergonomic chair for a bit now, and overall I’m pretty impressed — especially for the price range. The biggest highlight is how adjustable everything is. You can tweak the lumbar support, slide the seat forward/back, adjust the headrest, and recline it depending on how you’re sitting. It actually makes a difference during long work sessions, and I can see why it’s marketed for 8+ hours of use . The mesh back is super breathable, which is great if you sit for long periods — no sweaty back like with leather chairs. The lumbar support is also very noticeable and helps with posture, although it can feel a bit strong at first until you dial it in. Comfort-wise, the seat is supportive, but I will say it’s on the firmer side. Not uncomfortable, just not super plush — so if you like really soft cushioning, that’s something to keep in mind. Assembly was straightforward and took me about 20 minutes, and the chair feels pretty sturdy overall with smooth wheels and no weird wobbling. Overall, if you want a budget-friendly ergonomic chair that actually supports your back and posture, this is a great option. Not perfect, but definitely worth it for a home office setup. ... show more
