Just built a Pergola with 4 x 4 posts and brackets for the entire structure. I wanted to add an awning that could take the beating of a Boston climate: Thirty mile per hour winds, flooding downpours, 100 degree sun. This canvas handled it awesome. The light color allowed the light through but kept the hot direct sun and rain out. It also gave a classy look to what could have been a failed project if the canvas was a lighter fabric. I would recommend this to anyone. It is legit. The size was exact -not 3 inches short of the 12x12 size like others. The sewn in eyelets are heavy duty with cross stitching to prevent tears. I know it works because I captured a couple hundred gallons of water one evening when it poured as I waited to put the last ties on the structure after the storm. The quality is good, it seems very durable, the only thing that is annoying, I ordered a “brown” tarp. The package says “brown”. There is a “tan” option. So why is the color I received so tan, and not brown at all?

I love these tarps. I live in an area that between the sun and the wind, I can’t get the heaviest, “toughest” poly tarps to last even a year. These heavy duty canvas tarps hold up great. I use them on hay stacks and vehicles. I have had them in use for 5 years so far with no problems.

Great heavy tarp. The gray color is attractive and consistent throughout. The grommets appear to be secure. The only issue we found is that if you fold this 10x12 ft tarp in half (to make a double-layer 10x6 tarp) the grommet holes on the 10ft edge don't line up when folded - so, it is a bit awkward to secure both the top and bottom layers. ... show more
