Works great. An unexpected feature is this will trip before the circuit breaker and auto resets after a few minutes so no more running to the breaker box when my A/C kicks on while I'm making coffee. (I'm on a 20 amp circuit temporarily) An unintended consequence of that feature led me to think it was broken when I used it the first time. When first connected, it doesn't provide power for the first few minutes until that reset kicks in. Just had to replace my EMS after nearly four years of constant use and abuse. We love this thing! We live full-time in our RV and for a portable unit, this thing is solid because of the near constant plugging in and pulling out, in all types of weather. I'm amazed it lasted this long. What finally did it in was a loose connection at the female connection (neutral) that broke and I decided to retire it. I like the various readouts, and safety features. After several months, the surge protector started giving erroneous readings, so I contacted Progressive Industries. After hearing my description of the problem, they asked me to send them a picture of the plug to show there was not an issue with the electrical connection at the source. They determined the circuit board was "fried" and promptly sent me a new replacement. They told me to throw the old one away. Since I was curious about the surge protector, I took it apart. It turns out there was a leak around where the plug entered the cover that allowed water to enter. So I dried out the circuit board, and reassembled it. It has been working fine ever since. TIP: Tighten the nut that compresses the gasket that seals the cord where it enters the box. It seems quality control was the issue. I put this under the seat behind the electrical connector. Make sure that you have the polarity correct before you hook up it or else you'll have to take the whole thing out and put it back in. I like that if there is a power surge this thing should fry instead of my converter / fridge. There should be a part that you can replace a surge happens but I haven't needed to replace it yet. ... show more
