  • Great performance for a reasonable price.
Size: 100 Amp Style: Converter - PM4 12V
I purchased this converter to replace a WFCO 55 converter in my 2019 Venture SportTrek 333VFL. The new converter charges my 2 deep cycle 200Ah batteries with no trouble. My only complaint is the loud fan. But, I can appreciate the need for a high performance fan to keep the converter cool. I took care of the fan noise by installing a fan in the cabinet that the converter is installed in. That fan keeps the cabinet cool and the loud fan no longer turns on. ... show more

  • This is my 3rd one
Size: 100 Amp Style: Converter - PM4 12V
I bought 2 of these a few years back. I misused them by charging lead acid batteries too rapidly with them, and burnt them both out. I had issues with the fuses blowing at first, and went through a lot of fuses. I contacted the manufacturer about buying a replacement board for the first one that burned out, but that didn't pan out. They were very friendly, and very responsive. Great customer support. Fast forward to now...I bought another, this time with proper use as my intent. I installed this to charge a 300AH lithium ion battery. It works as expected, delivers consistent 90 amps(rated at 100 amps) and fully charges a completely dead battery in about 3 hours. I highly recommend this converter. ... show more

  • SWEET DEALS!
Size: 100 Amp Style: Converter - PM4 12V
SWEET DEALS! Works great, EZ installation and better power distribution for 1999 FLEETWOOD BOUNDER 28T. Although you must installation the wire harness bundle from the box roof, pull down some extra wire and mount it on the box floor, maybe on a wood plank.

  • Great price & product
Size: 100 Amp Style: Converter - PM4 12V
Installed it in my Cedar Creek 5th wheel replacing a WFCO 65 amp unit that was failing. It works perfectly. It requires #6 wire but will accept #4 wire which is thicker. I used the #4 because I had a 5 foot run to my power center to counter act the extra resistance of the wire. Both are available locally. Don't let the reviewers that do not know about electricity fool you into thinking it will overcharge your batteries because it is capable of a higher amperage than your old one. It only supplies what is required to charge your batteries and run your equipment. As long as your power center is rated for 100 amps (most are) it will work fine. It WILL NOT charge 100 amps all the time. Again, it will only produce what is needed to do the job. The four step charge is better for your batteries, better than the 3 step units. It will help the batteries last longer. Make sure the compartment is clear of dust, wood shavings etc. That stuff will get sucked into the converter and damage it or possibly cause a fire. ... show more

  • Powerful and stable
Size: 100 Amp Style: Converter - PM4 12V
I put a power meter on it and charged a power hungry bank of 32 batteries. I have the 100 amp unit. It puts out a steady 80 amps. Sometimes I'll see it go up a bit higher. Brother hooked it up backwards and blew the fuses. Replace the fuses and still works great. Cooling fan is quiet and seems to be variable speed and is rarely on if under 20 amps. The voltage is very stable and the unit puts out higher voltage during the first bulk charge but then when the battery starts accepting less current the unit backs off the voltage to charge slower. Sometimes during this transition the output drops to zero briefly which could be a problem if you're running it as a power supply with no battery when your powered device reduces its current demand, only testing would tell and since I'm not running it that way I'm not sure if your devices would actually lose power or not. I compared it to a 100 amp automotive battery charger from Napa. The Napa charger put out one third of its rated setting no matter what setting I put it on and often refused to charge batteries claiming they were defective. This charger had no such problems and I am very happy so far. I've used it heavily for one month ... show more

  • Powermax - customer since 2012 - I can tell you with confidence to walk away and buy elsewhere
Size: 100 Amp Style: Converter - PM4 12V
I've bought powermax converters since 2012 when my shop made an offering for everyone to buy one. Among about 20 guys who bought one, it seemed 80% of us had them fail under 2 years and we paid over $200 for them. At one point I had to send mine out for service at the service response was pretty terrible / impossible but it lasted since so I bought another in 2018 when it failed here on amazon. First mistake. This charger again failed in about 1.5 years just dead stopped charging. Again, getting ahold of customer service was next to impossible & I was attempted to be brushed off the phone rather than sent in for support. Once the unit was sent again, again next to impossible to get ahold of Graham for another week. When i finally do, he states the unit had to be replaced and is being shipped out. At least they FINALLY warrantied it but it was like pulling teeth and they clearly were attempting to dodge it. What furthers this, is the fact they have zero online presence on yelp or google; coincidence? I think not, they're be out of business if they had public accountability for their product & service. I know it sucks, but spend more money on a better unit. Spending $150-$200 only to get hosed a little more than a year later sucks worse. ... show more

  • 100 amps /for solar system
Size: 100 Amp Style: Converter - PM4 12V
I live and work fully off the electric grid. We use solar in the mountains of AZ. We make plenty of power but it's nice to be able to top off batteries to extend their life. And just in case we get tons of cloudy days in a row it's nice for peace of mind. Life expectancy on golf cart batteries goes up a lot when they aren't allowed to fall often 80% (I'll let there debate the allowable voltage drop) I have this hooked up to a 350/4000 watt generator. My previous charger not this brand, I got free fixed it and a year later died. This is a replacement. This was purchased as a prime warehouse deal. Looked like someone dropped it but the ad did say so. It was missing a rivet even. I paid roughly 1/2 price so I don't care at all. Not sure why anyone would care as long as it worked. During my initial test unit charged (12) 6v batteries running at 12v, perfectly. Unit wasn't freezing cold but didn't even get warm enough to warm your hands on a cold winter day. Batteries were at about 50% since my other charger died so not getting warm is pretty darn good! Fan didn't even turn on and I ran it about 8 hrs just to see! If I run into any trouble I'll update this as I know genuine reviews can be helpful for folks like myself. Just out of experience for newbies install if possible indoors if you use it off the grid like I do. Meaning I had my electronics in a unheated not insulated "indoor" spot. Electrolytic caps and such inside unit are temp rated. So it's really best to keep in a heated area when possible. Of course they use these commonly in rv type places and that's not an option. ... show more
