Description

What happens when a single mother is forced to live with a grumpy, ailing football star? The smolder turns red hot. A standalone follow-up to the best- selling, WRECKING BALL. Amanda Shaw has pulled it together. It’s taken a couple of years, a boatload of hard work, and a ton of self-discipline, but she finally has her problems in a headlock. Her yoga studio in the city has become so successful she’s opening one near the beach, and her relationship with her ten-year-old son is improving every day. The last thing she needs is a monkey wrench thrown into her smoothly running life. Grant Hendricks is one big monkey wrench. The four-time Defensive Player of the Year, three-time NFL sack leader, and all-around football god has officially hit rock bottom. A devastating back injury means he may have to retire and that scares him more than doctors telling him the next hit could leave him paralyzed. All he needs is a quiet place to think and his teammate’s beach house sounds like just the place. Problem is, the woman already living there. Read more

My favourite story of the series! Funny, emotional and just wonderful
Format: Kindle
I’m so happy that I decided to read this series and especially this book. I enjoyed all three stories very much, I’m only sorry that I waited so long to read them. After reading the first two books of the ‘Hard to love’ series I was very curious and excited to read the third book ‘Bulldozer’. Especially when I discovered that it was Amanda’s story! I was looking forward to seeing Calvin’s sister Amanda and her son Sam again (both were secondary characters in the first book so it’s better if you read that book first before this one). This was again a great story. Not only did we get to see how Amanda and Sam are currently doing, but we also learned more about Amanda’s childhood and past and her alcohol addiction and her struggle to say sober, even now when she’s been sober for a few years. Both Amanda and Grant were lonely. Grant didn’t have a lot of friends and he had no contact with his family. Football was his whole life and there was a good chance that due to a back injury he would have to stop playing and that made him very anxious and depressed. So he wasn’t in a good place when he first met Amanda and Sam. Amanda was a single mother of a ten year old son. Every day she worked hard to make her yoga business a success and to stay sober. Everything was going well but it was also a lonely life. Neither of them expected to find love, friendship and a new future with other person but they did. Now they only have to be brave enough to reach for love and each other. At the start of the story Grant was very grumpy and not so nice, I wasn’t sure what to think of him but from the moment that he started to connect with Sam and later Amanda, I felt for him. Grant was a great mix of alpha man with a touch of vulnerability and to my surprise some innocence too. He was a bit of a contradiction, as a professional football player he was very confident but when it came to women, love and relationships, I would describe him as shy and ignorant. But he really tried very hard to be a good friend to Amanda and Sam and I loved him for it. Because of his difficult childhood where his father hurt his mother, Grant was convinced that he was no good for a relationship (that’s why he didn’t have any) but his feelings for Amanda and Sam were too strong to resist in the end. He was so caring for both of them, so kind, generous and very protective. It was lovely to see Sam again, a little bit older than in the first book and this time we got to see how his relationship with his mother was. Sam was still a quiet, shy and great child. And it was wonderful to see how deep he connected with Grant. It felt very natural and emotional. Amanda was a wonderful mother, she tried so hard to make up for her past mistakes and you could really feel her love for her son. She was strong, hardworking and also very caring. The story was told from Amanda’s POV. It’s again a slow burn story (just like the previous two books) and I loved every minute of it. ‘Bulldozer’ had a great mix of fun and emotions in the story. I had lots of fun in the beginning when Amanda and Grant were more enemies than friends and the emotional parts in the story were wonderful too. I’m the writer very grateful that she gave us two epilogues in the story!! I loved the whole series but I do think that this story is my favourite of the three stories. ... show more

Inspiring and funny.
Format: Kindle
I know I like a book when I mourn that the ending came I won’t be with the characters anymore. I actually read it on Readict. That was a pain because you had to watch a commercial. I loved the series so much that I wanted to find out about the author and see if she wrote anything else. I then found these three books and I bought them and reread them. ... show more

Simply exquisite!
Format: Kindle
Two hurt people driven by their broken pasts trying to make amends, one magnificent love story neither one of them expected to develop. I have so many things to say about this book, but lets start by the two main characters. Amanda, she had a terrible childhood which she barely survived if not for the loving help of an elderly neighbor, a rough introduction into adulthood that ended with a pregnancy and another chance at life. She's so strong, her perseverance is to be admired, her love for her son and her desire to shape him into a good man is her mission in life. Grant, a gentle giant who grew up in a violent home, his biggest fear is that he has those genes inside of him and he will hurt someone he loves, football has been his life, but an unexpected injury puts his career in danger, he's lost, depressed, numbness is his best friend until Amanda and her son, Sam, make an unexpected appearance in his life. Amanda and Grant's first encounter is on the rocky side, but little by little she recognizes that Grant is experiencing a lot of the stuff that she went through and she starts feeling a bit more compassion for the man. Once their friendship is on solid ground we start seeing the beauty inside these two people, we understand their fears, their dreams, their wounded souls. It's an absolute beauty to see how they help each other forgive themselves for past mistakes and look into the future with a hope that's never been there before. I have to point out that while his character only plays a small part in the big scheme of things, Walter is an important character in my opinion, he's the one who prevents Amanda to fall down the rabbit hole again, the one that makes her understand once and for all how wrong it is just to think on self destructing herself the way she did in the past. I loved the depth of the characters, the way the author took her time to give the storyline heart, to make the readers feel so much empathy for these characters. This book has it all, humor, a touch of angst, a whole lot of swooning for who has become one of my favorite heroes, Grant, and to make the spark ignite, some deliciously well written sexy times. Bulldozer is a prime example of why Ms. Dangelico has become one of my favorite authors, please send the next one my way soon. ... show more

Worth the wait
Format: Kindle
I finally, FINALLY, moved this up to the top of my TBR, and it made my love for the rest of the series come rushing back to me - one of my all-time favorites. Often, when you've been anticipating reading a book for so long, you build up unrealistic expectations that it has no chance of meeting. That wasn't the case here; I'd just had this little gem sitting on my Kindle, waiting for the right moment. And this was it! There's something about Dangelico's work that resonates with me; I always devour her books in one sitting, and they are often poignant, memorable reads. This one pairs humor with heart, providing a playful, friction-filled roommates to lovers romance, a story of redemption, AND a sweet, sentimental single mom romance, all rolled into one. The hero is a lovable grump who is shameless, but such a little sweetheart in the ways that count. He's a giant linebacker with a marshmallow heart and the tendency to blush when he's embarrassed... how adorable is that? The chemistry that sparked between this couple leapt off the page, and I experienced so many emotions while reading. I loved it! The story follows Amanda, a single mom who is trying to do things right this time around. She knows she's made plenty of mistakes in the past, but she's been sober for three years, and is now focused on being a great mom. So when she borrows her brother's vacation home for an extended business trip, the last thing Amanda expects to see is a large man clad in his birthday suit. Grant is her brother's former teammate, and while she's been told he's one of the good guys, he certainly doesn't seem to match that description. Reeling from a spinal injury, the giant man is moody, broody, and all kinds of frustrating. As the two - along with Amanda's son - figure out how to live together temporarily, Amanda soon realizes that there's more to Grant than meets the eye. He's determined to stay away, but that zap of connection keeps pulling them together. As with the other (excellent) books in this series, there's a phenomenal slow burn romance, plus a great combination of lighthearted moments and shots of angst that will HURT. I loved watching Amanda and Grant stumble along the way; they've both got their walls up, and that means it's not an easy progression. In the other books in the series (certainly not required reading, but I highly recommend them), we got to see the troubled side of Amanda. Here, she's in a much more stable place, and I loved that she's actually the one with a steady foundation. The story is told exclusively from her perspective, but we really do get to know Grant well - he's this big, strong man who is broken and vulnerable on the inside. They make such a compelling combination, and the payoff at the end was immensely satisfying. It renewed my love for the series in a big way, and that's always a fantastic feeling. ... show more

Loved getting Amanda’s story
Format: Kindle
This was almost as good as the first book, and I loved getting Amanda’s and her son, Sam’s, story. It was funny, but it also gave us more insight into her recovery that began in Wrecking Ball, where she wasn’t a very sympathetic character. Grant was a great MMC, though his reason for being a jerk was, I felt, a little weak. This being a single POV, I wish we had more of his thoughts and feelings to explain his behavior. Still, a great read. Far less spice than the other two books. ... show more

love single parent/sport romance....
Format: Kindle
If you love single parent and sport romance then you will love Bulldozer. Amanda you may have met in previous read Wrecking Ball (she is Calvin's sister). Now she is getting her life back on track and reconnecting with her son at her brother's vacation house. The only problem is that someone is already living there. Grant is Calvin's former teammate looking for a place to heal from back surgery. He comes off gruff at first but once you get to know him you will fall for him. There is this chemistry between that just grows and it's fun to watch this hate to love relationship form throughout the summer. Amanda is so strong and I love how she is changing her life not just for her but for her son too. This is such and amazing read. I really love Amanda and Grant together. ... show more

Review: Hard To Love 3: Bulldozer
Format: Kindle
Bulldozer by P. Dangelico is the third book in her Hard To Love series. A contemporary romance told in single POV, a standalone and a happily ever after this book was awesome-sauce and then some. Amanda Shaw is a single mom, successful in her Yoga business partnership with her best friend and ready to open their satellite studio in the Hamptons. Thank goodness her brother, retired NFL footballer Calvin Shaw, has a home here where she and her son can stay while she oversees the renovations and grand opening. What she does NOT expect is the entirely fully naked gloriousness of one Grant Hendricks in the kitchen when she thought the place was empty. One 911 call later and he is still naked and now not overly pleased with the situation. Grant Decker is taking a break for the summer. From Practice while he is recovering from spinal surgery, from his home in the Hamptons to avoid the paparazzi, and he thought, from people in general until his teammate's sister and son arrive and interrupt his lazy beer drinking, wandering around naked days. Powerful emotions, funny situations, strong emotional characters with honest flaws that you can still love. This story was well-paced and well-written and this author is definitely holding a spot on my fave authors list! Enjoy! ... show more

very likable characters and good storyline
Format: Kindle
I enjoyed this book very much that is about Amanda and Grant turning a do not like each other into a feel good relationship. Grant is an NFL Quarterback recouping from surgery at the summer home of a teammate. That teammate just happens to be Amanda's brother and she was told she could stay there for the summer, along with her son Sam, while she starts up her business. She is put off by him from the beginning that she doesn't even want her son around him. But Grant evolves over time and the real Grant comes out and he is sweet, caring and a very sensitive guy. Amanda is locked in on her son and making sure he has the good life she didn't have growing up that she takes no time for herself. Sam's father also makes appearance in the book and causes issues and Sam is just a little boy that most scenes he is in brings a lot to the story. I think the author deals with domestic abuse and addiction responsibly and how it affects everyone. This is the 3rd book I have read by this author and I like her style of writing. Recommend this book and series. ... show more
