I love old-fashioned kitchen utensils, and I've always looked for the same form-factor in my own tools as those of my grandmothers, so this wooden-handled pastry blender was immediately what I wanted. The metal blades are satisfyingly solid and do not bend, the wooden handle is smoothed and has a sealant on it, and the connecting rivets have proven to be very solid, with none of the rattle or wobble I had expected to have. Be aware that, as with any wooden-handled tool, you cannot put this in the dishwasher, or let it sit in a damp or wet place, and the wood itself needs to be cared for as the varnish begins to wear down. Take good care of this tool, and you will have bought it for life.

I first got this type of pastry blender in 1967; I routinely used it until October 2017 when it was incinerated in the Tubbs firestorm in Northern California. It was the one kitchen tool I missed the most when I started rebuilding my kitchen tools. I was so excited when I found this on Amazon that I bought it immediately, and it functions perfectly, just like my old one! I MUCH prefer it to the other pastry blender I bought. The ONLY downside is that it needs to be hand-washed.

I have been 2 pastry blenders this spring and summer so I am hoping this one lasts longer. The handle is comfortable to hold and I think it looks better made than the plastic handle ones like I had that broke. I am hopeful this will be better.

This pastry blender works great - my Grandmother had one just like it. I've used the rigid stainless steel blender but they just don't blend well. This is easy on the hand, get into the curved bowl - the "other" kind requires a lot of scraping. Pie crusts - blending the butter and flour is easy with this blender. Enjoy.

Recently bought this for my mother in law as she gifted me an extra one she had years ago. Her newer one broke and she was looking for the wooden handle kind and they just hold up better. I couldn't part with my gift so I bought her a new and she loves it!

I like the wire blender vs thicker bands. The wire is easier and mixes the butter into the flour faster. The handle is sturdy.

I wanted to love this. Honestly. I lost the one I had for many years in a move, and the excellent reviews here gave me hope this one would be close to my old faithful. Not fancy, just well-constructed. Many reviewers noted theirs was "Made in Canada." I ordered with hope. Well, mine came via China Post. It is crudely constructed, held together by what appear to be ungalvinzed bolts. The wires wobble where they are attached to the handle. I am sure this will 'work.' I have little faith it will last. I will not purchase this brand of kitchen tool again. Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, well, you know how that goes.
