This blender works very well and seems to have no problem blending up ice, fruit, vegetables, and frozen chunks of things in short order. The body of the carafe itself is sturdy and lightweight, and easy to clean. Overall I'm very satisfied with this item. The bottom of the engine part has suction cups that adhere very strongly to the counter. One concern is that there doesn't seem to be any kind of safety feature for the blade. The first time I used the blender, I unthinkingly went to pour out the smoothie into a glass and the blade came plunging freely out of the carafe - luckily it impaled itself into my floor and not my foot! Unless I'm missing something, I feel like there should be a feature that keeps the blade locked when pouring or until released by the user. ... show more
