I am not sure how long the scissors will stay sharp, but I was surprised how nicely they worked. I no longer professionally do hair on account of a disability, but I still cut my hair and my dogs, and they surprisingly did well. Although they are heavy, that could bother some. Great for cutting my little Maltese.
