Excellent quality clippers. This is the second Wahl electric clipper I've purchased. I bought the last Wahl clipper in 1987, and have used it regularly. I tried sharpening the blades myself, but could not get them as sharp as new blades. The blades can be purchased and replaced separately, but I figured the whole 40-year set of clippers deserved to be replaced, since they are quite affordable. Cuts hair, is inexpensive. The carrying case is a nice touch, and the generous variety of guards and set of shears were an unexpected bonus. It does pretty well at cutting hair, and doesn't overheat in the time it takes to do a trim unlike my Andis. However, it is inexcusably, insanely loud due to sympathetic vibration of the plastic housing. You can control it by holding them together, but why should you have to? It would have been trivially easy for them to add some sort of sound damping material where the edges meet to prevent it. ... show more

I'm happy to report that Wahl quality has NOT lessened any in the years since I bought my last clippers from them (somewhere around 2010). Comes in a nice carry case with a good bit of clipper oil; many different sized guards and a great pair of shears and a comb. LONG cord, too. Wahl has kept their quality up without gouging us in the pocket book, what a rare thing these days. These are good clippers. just as good as the ones I had before! Arrived sharp, well adjusted, cutting well! This one is easier to handle and give yourself a self cut with. It is lighter and a smaller profile to handle than another older wahl clippers I have. This one is louder than the older one. All the extra wahl combs I bought fit it well.
