Description

The ProCare Lace-Up Ankle Support Brace is designed to meet the needs of demanding athletes everywhere, treating acute ankle ligament sprains and chronic instabilities. This ankle support brace features a sturdy canvas stirrup and a reinforced eyelet area for outstanding performance and durability. A traditional lace-up design is accompanied by figure-8 strapping. This locks the calcaneus (heel bone) into place and controls inversion/eversion. Removable plastic medial/lateral stays enhance proprioception (body position awareness) and stability. The lightweight, low- profile design allows the ankle support brace to easily fit inside your shoe. Universal fit allows the ProCare Lace-Up Ankle Support Brace to be worn on either the left or right foot.

I got these after my doctor suggested I get them from Amazon for cheaper for my sprained ankles. I think they work really well, especially if you can't stand the pull-on braces. They do bulk up your ankle(s), so you will need to loosen your shoes or go a size or two up. I wore them with Asics, so i just laced my shoes looser for a bit. I bought this using their sizing chart and was hoping to have a good fit that would go inside of an athletic shoe. The sizing was off and was way too big. It provides no support and if anything it's very uncomfortable. I asked to exchange it for one size down and they denied to do anything to resolve the issue. I am not asking for a refund I'm asking to get the product I ordered that should have fit my foot based on their sizing chart. If you buy it know that you should probably go a size down and to be real certain I'd recommend looking for a different product that at least stands behind it. ... show more

This is a great supportive brace for my daughter- she's 9 - wears a size 1 street shoe. Sprained her ankle in dance. This Xsmall is a little big on her but we are able to tighten it pretty good. The Drs have been impressed by this brace - and said to keep wearing it as she returns to her physical activities. They said IF we could find a pediatric size- in that style would be PERFECT - but if not- to keep using this one! ... show more

Although I measured my ankle and followed the recommendations given for sizing (I fell between sizes, so I went to the next larger size), this ankle support was much too small for me. I have very small feet and minimal swelling, but I could have used a large instead of a medium size brace. That being said, the wrap is well-made, and because it laces up, I have been able to make it work. In order to make it more comfortable, I added minimal padding where the support laces at the foot, arguably the tightest spot on the brace, and in the bend of the ankle to increase immobilization. The bottom of the wrap is slippery, so be prepared to use a non-slip sock or shoe. I do not believe a person who is wearing this brace will be able to use the same size shoe as he did without it, although removing the stays might accomplish this. I am reasonably happy with my purchase and would buy it again, but in a larger size. ... show more

I bought two of these to use in place of socks when I have to wear shoes (I'm a barefooter) and they have been great. I took the plastic ankle support pieces out and just wear them as...I guess internal spats lol. I took my boots off the other day to go rock climbing and the canvas stood up to rough rocks very well, not even a snag. Very comfortable for long patrols as a security guard. If you are gonna use them like I do, you should cut the laces and learn to tie a sheet bend knot so its flatter against your foot inside your shoe if you're wearing anything high top. Anyway 10/10 and I will be buying more. Not because they're poor quality or anything but because I abuse my things and I can't realistically expect them to stand up to that for years on end. ... show more

This ankle brace is an absolute lifesaver. Super comfortable with or without socks. Machine washable and machine dryable. Just remember to take the little plastic parts out of the ankle support before you wash it, otherwise they could possibly warp. Overall great and I will definitely be buying another ... show more

I ordered this according to the size that their chart says. It was waaay too small! Then I ordered a Large which was also too small. If I went to the next and last size it is sized for a person who wears an 11 plus shoe size. I wear a 9 and am a female. They took the first one back but won't take the next one according to their website. Same company! I received it yesterday but can't return it. Why the first one but not the second one? Be careful ordering from Global. It says it's returnable but when you click on the return area it says non refundable. This taught me something though. Always make sure an item is returnable by clicking on where it states that in the drop down. When this dropped down...there it was...NOT refundable. I will check all purchases from now on from every website. Buyer beware ... show more
