Wood isn't what you'd typically think is a medium for powder coat, but it's perfect for laser engraving. You engrave the wood once to get the shape. Fill the engraving and smooth it with something like a credit card as if you were screen printing, and then re-engrave the same thing at a lower power to melt the powder only exactly where the engraving is. You can just brush the rest off with a micro-fiber cloth. If you have a lot of excess, you can put it back into the bag.
