    • Who needs a Guard? YOU DO!!

I am nearly 4-years out from prostate cancer and prostate and associated glands removal. I am among the group of men with urinary incontinence. I have chosen to use a clamp, but still need a guard since a clamp is not 100%. I generally use one guard, perhaps two per day at the most. These guards, used with appropriate underwear, will assist in keeping you dry throughout the day. There is always some leaking even with a clamp, especially during workouts, weight lifting, sneezing, etc. It really can't be helped. So, until I decide on a surgical "solution" such as an artificial sphincter, well, this is life for this 72-year old widower. Prevail incontinence pads are the best I have used, and Iโ€™ve tried several other brands, some of which I am now trying to use up rather than throw out in the trash, which I would gladly do except I hate to waste them. I use those around the house. The one thing that seems to be a great help with the Prevail is the wide adhesive stripe rather than two or three thin strips on other brands. This keeps them in place much better. I will now not knowingly buy any other brand EXCEPT perhaps ADDING another plain absorbent pad when I think necessary like on long road trips, etc. Get Prevail brand, men.
