    • Wow I'm blown away at technology
Well first I'd like to acknowledge the bad reviewers. Y'all scared me honestly and I almost didn't buy this and I was like well there's a lot more positive than good reviews so let me just try it. It's a lot of money but with COVID I'm still not comfortable going back to therapy so this was my next best bet. Connectivity: Elvie is very sensitive. I plugged her in over night because that five second thing didn't work for mine. Once it was morning I was able to connect her in 2 seconds and get started. I had to keep my phone on my upper thigh/hip area, she didn't like my phone in my mid area. It's super easy to reconnect and mine only disconnected when I was trying to look at the graph and my results. So having patience is key here. Prompts: Elvie gives you shout outs and encouraging words. I remember reading somewhere that Elvie said good job to someone and they felt it wasn't a good job. Let's face it, we all are buying this to get our pelvic floor stronger. Personally, I need encouragement and was thankful after my first couple workouts at the honesty and accuracy. My pelvic floor has been less than 50% strong since I gave birth vaginally, last year, to my 9 lb son...who gave me fourth degree tear. Exercises: they are challenging. I haven't mastered the pulse yet but I remember my therapist telling me that too. I like seeing on my phone how I need to relax. Elvie tells you to relax it just takes me a while. You can customize your workout days and times. It's only five minutes a day but I do it more often some days and would like to get to doing it twice daily each day. I've become lazy and discouraged and I think Elvie is really going to get me my motivation back. Overall, it's super comfortable. I don't need the cover, she slid right in and sat there. I also do mine laying down because that's how pelvic floor therapy in person was for me. I'm super excited to see myself get stronger over time. I've known about the Elvie for a while now, having seen an article on a random website at some point in the past. I thought it was a great idea, but I'm wayyyyyy too cheap to spend $200 on something I could theoretically do without spending anything at all. So I went with out. Until about three weeks ago when I had a big coughing fit and had to change my clothes from the waist down. Being only 35, my future flashed before my eyes and I realized I had two choices: get motivated to strengthen my pelvic floor or buy stock in Depends. I'm glad I went with option 1. The Elvie is easily one of the best things I've done for myself in a long time. I not only don't have an issue with bladder control, I've also found that sex is more enjoyable for both myself and my husband. The customizable workout schedule and reminder notifications are a nice touch. The storage container/charger is nice and discreet. It's comfortable to use and easy to clean. Of course, few products are perfect. I have problems with the Bluetooth connection getting lost in the middle of an exercise. It would be nice if the app were more robust (i.e. there is information in the package brochure that could easily be added to the app). I'd love to see a sort of "free play" option where you could try out different muscle groups without being in an actual exercise. The ability to pick the exercises you wanted to do would also be cool. ... show more

I the sensors are not as accurate as they should be. It makes following the exercises difficult. It is a fairly new purchase, I am still working on different positions to attempt to get a better experience. I’m not impressed. I was expecting a lot more from this product.

    • Like any other exercise
I was skeptical about this working (as I'm seriously overweight). And while I know how to do kegel exercises, like any other exercise, I find I don't have time/motivation to get it done. After taking care of my ailing father, I recently became more concerned about my children having to care for me. I didn't want incontinence to be something they had to tend to (especially at my size). The app is a wonderful reminder (sometimes annoyingly so). The device, when inserted, needs to be within signal range of your phone...which can be inconsistent (due to phone? weight?). At my size, keeping the phone within range can sometimes feel like acrobats (same for getting the device in position to start). I will say, it keeps me on track. I'm still actually doing the exercises. The price is a bit high...especially for exercises I "could" do without a device. Keeping me doing them (think personal trainer) so my kids won't have to clean up after me makes this worth every penny. ... show more

    • good motivator, but may not have reproducible results
i purchased this product at the recommendation of my PT to aid in pelvic floor training. it is easy to use, but i have recently had some trouble getting connection, and keeping connection. that is annoying. i also have days where the device is not able to record much, and other days my strength seems great. so, although i accept that this might be due to normal day-to-day variation, it seems to be extreme variability. therefore, i question the product‘s ability to accurately measure strength of contractions. regardless, the (ample) money’s been spent, so i will continue to use thus product. also, i would encourage people to purchase this product AFTER you download the elvie app so that you can get a discount. i wasted $20 because i purchased it from amazon; the code my discount PT gabe me had expired. ... show more
