Best hot air popper! Convenient, natural and light! Pops regular or gourmet popping corn with hot air, not oil, for a healthy, low calorie treat ! Fast! Pops up to 18 cups of gourmet corn in less than 2 1/2 minutes. Leaves virtually no un-popped kernels. 120 volts, 60 Hz only. Plug in Presto’s PopLite and the party begins. In less than 2-1/2 minutes you’ll have up to 18 cups--two large bowlfuls--of fluffy popcorn with virtually no unpopped kernels. And because the machine uses hot air instead of oil, the resulting snack is healthier and lower in calories. That’s not to say you can’t add butter; in fact, the 1/2-cup measuring cup on top of the popper doubles as a butter melter. Simply put in the desired amount of margarine or butter (room temperature is best), and it melts from the heat produced during the popping process. The clear plastic cover and cup, which must stay on during popping so the popped corn doesn’t fly all over the room, easily remove for hand cleaning with warm, soapy water. No other clean-up is required. While a few unpopped kernels spring out the chute as the machine begins to heats up, the chute does a good job of directing the popped corn into a bowl. The popper measures 14 by 9 by 6-1/2 inches, and is identical to Presto’s Orville Redenbacher Hot Air Corn Popper except for color and logo. **Writing this while eating a bowl of popcorn** I have used this machine about a dozen times, and so far, it works great for me. It's quick- pops within 1-2 minutes, and produces light and fluffy popcorn. Though, It has a few quirks. Yes, kernels can fly out well before they pop. To combat this, I simply tilt the machine back SLIGHTLY to cause the kernels to fall backwards, instead of being forced out the exit. I do this until the I hear the kernels start to pop, then I set it flat. Yes, it does not have a switch. As soon as you plug it in, it's on. As long as you remember, and you prepare, it's not an issue. Easy fix- get a plug switch adapter. They're fairly inexpensive, and you can find them on this site. Lastly, the top (the shoot/exit) is plastic, and it gets hot! (Understandably) Be cautious when taking the top off. Again, as long as you are aware, it's not an issue. I do not use the butter scoop/warmer, so I cannot comment on that part. I spray with oil, if I do feel like using butter, I will melt on the stove separately- that's just my preference. Overall, I'm very happy with this product. It's pops corn fast, and cleanly, for a quick snack. The price wasn't bad either. I recommend. *thumbs up* ... show more

Works great and doesn’t throw kernels all over the place. It pops enough popcorn for two buckets to be about half full, which is perfect for a movie night for the kids. Highly recommend.

The media could not be loaded. Works awesome! Pour in kernels and plug it in. Takes a few minutes until they start popping. I had been using the range top with olive oil prior but this tastes way better. Love the color, cleaning should be a breeze! Love it’s got a built in scoop that also doubles for melting butter and the cord wrap. We eat popcorn a lot in our household and this machine is so easy to use that our daughter loves being able to make popcorn by herself now! Such a great investment. Only leaves a few kernels unpopped and it pops them bigger than my stove top ever did ... show more

I love popcorn and also need to watch my weight. Microwave popcorn, even the lowfat options, still contains enough fat to make it an unhealthy choice. And popcorn made with oil or butter is also not a healthy snack. The great thing about a popper such as this is that it works completely by air and there is no added fat. I had an air popper for about 4 years. I would use it nightly. I use Orville Redenbacher kernels and I loved the fresh popped popcorn with just some salt but my machine would pop unpopped kernels out while it slowly filled my bowl. Luckily the machine went dead on me for I had to purchase a new one and I chose this one. I am speechless with how amazing it works. I use half the kernels I used to with my old popper to get even more popcorn. I followed some of the suggestions here and run it a couple of minutes to warm up, then I unplug it and add the kernels then plugging it in again. I leave the measuring cup off till the first pop and then put it on. Each time I use it only one unpopped kernel goes into the bowl and then every other kernel pops big and firm. It is such a joy to not have kernels flying all over the place. I also put a towel over the machine when it is finishing for some popped kernels may fly as the bowl fills to the brim. I have read some of the negative comments here. Some say the popcorn tastes like cardboard. That is not the fault of the machine but rather what popcorn without oil or butter tastes like. I don't think people realize just how fattening popcorn with the trimmings is. Also, cheap kernels are cheap kernels and will only pop so big no matter how good the machine works. I loved the tase of popcorn without butter right off the bat. For some it will take time to aquire the tase. But is is an amazingly healthy and filling very lowfat snack. It is a huge addition to my diet. And this machine works fast, leaves barely none unpopped kernels and comes with a 2 year warranty. Just don't leave it unattended with young children. The removable top from which the popcorn emerges becomes very hot when in use. It is not a problem with this machine but due to the hot air going thru the chute. The directions guide you and tell you to use potholders. This machine comes at a great price, is a high end item and works great. Highly recommend. ... show more

Works great and fast, perfect pop every time. Maybe 1 or 2 kernel per a scoop not pop, can’t beat that consistency. Tastes great. I just been using Orville Redenbacher yellow kernels, I buy a big jug of it when buy this popper. I didn’t try to heat butter in scoop. I been just eating plain. Great low calorie and fiber snack. It makes 1 scoop at a time. Scoop is 1/2 cup. It cooks in just a few minutes. Super fast. Clean up is easy just wipe out with dry rag or paper towel. I been using a pot that I have a lid for. It pops right into pot. I grab some for snack and put the lid on pot for tomorrow’s left overs. Highly recommend. ... show more
