Pops up to 18 cups of gourmet corn in less than 2 1/2 minutes. Leaves virtually no un-popped kernels. In less than 2-1/2 minutes you’ll have up to 18 cups--two large bowlfuls--of fluffy popcorn with virtually no unpopped kernels. And because the machine uses hot air instead of oil, the resulting snack is healthier and lower in calories. That’s not to say you can’t add butter; in fact, the 1/2-cup measuring cup on top of the popper doubles as a butter melter. Simply put in the desired amount of margarine or butter (room temperature is best), and it melts from the heat produced during the popping process. The clear plastic cover and cup, which must stay on during popping so the popped corn doesn’t fly all over the room, easily remove for hand cleaning with warm, soapy water. No other clean-up is required. While a few unpopped kernels spring out the chute as the machine begins to heats up, the chute does a good job of directing the popped corn into a bowl. I got this because my 5 year old LOVES popcorn and I needed an easier/healthier way to make it. This popper works really well and makes it easy for my kid to help make it. He's been super excited everytime we use it. If you're having an issue with unpopped kernels coming (flying out) out- then when you get the first couple of popped corn tip the popper back about 40 - 45 degrees and it will help keep the kennels. Bought this popper to replace making my popcorn on the stovetop. The pros: pops a lot more kernels than than my stovetop method and no need for oil or butter. Much healthier! Gets the corn popped a lot quicker than the stovetop. So easy to use and cleanup is a snap. No more cleaning pans with oil or better yet no more burning pans. Con: my only issue with this popper is I like my popcorn hot. When I make popcorn on the stovetop in a stainless saucepan the saucepan and the popcorn retain the heat this method can’t make that same claim. Besides that it’s a winner and I’m gonna get some use out of this popcorn machine ... show more

This one is a winner! Like most folks, I've owned several hot air poppers over the years. Some work quite well and others not so much. This Presto popper is by far the best in every way. The Presto hot air popper is attractively designed and affordably priced. It is a bit taller than some, solidly built, operates more quietly than most, and is easy to clean. It has been more than 20 years since I had air popped popcorn. Oh how I missed it! When I saw this popcorn maker on Amazon, it brought back memories for sure. I ordered it, it was delivered the next day, and that night we were sitting in front of the television watching a really good movie and eating the freshest air popped popcorn! The butter was melted in the cup on top and we drizzled over the popcorn for perfection. I’m so glad we made this purchase. Hey there, popcorn enthusiasts! I just had to share my recent experience with this air popper. Now, let's get straight to the point - the construction of this beauty is not quite what it used to be. First things first, let me start by saying that popping popcorn at home is pure magic. I've been doing so for years and love control over what kernels are used and how much butter it is topped with. 😋 After literal decades of using the same Presto brand air popper, I was super bummed when ours finally quit on us. When I found this model and "upgraded" our air popper, I was expecting a popcorn extravaganza with more kernels popped in a short period of time. Unfortunately, the reality was a bit of a bummer. The old model was like popcorn-popping magic, effortlessly churning out fluffy, perfectly popped kernels. But this new popper seems to have lost some of its magic touch. It does pop the kernels - well, at least some of it. The top layer will flow out as the fluffy expectation, leaving the bottom layer to burn and become a fire hazard. I've found it can only be used by propping up the bottom at an angle to keep the 'corn coming out of the device, and not just circulating inside until it starts a house fire. 😬 It's like the last model we had was constructed by an artist like Michelangelo himself, while this model was made by a popcorn-loving gnome in a hurry. Don't get me wrong, we still use this device multiple times a week, but 1. Carefully watch it, 2. Prop up the back with a book so it's angling the popped corn outwards, and 3. Pop no more than one batch at a time (huge bummer, we don't like sharing around here). ... show more

Very simple! You scoop the corn in, you turn it on, the corn pops! Wonderful! Joyful! Exactly as it should be. Now I can easily eat a low calorie snack. Makes lots and lots, plenty. It's fairly loud, so unfortunately I can't enjoy it at 2am without bothering everyone, but there really is no way to make a machine like this quiet. They will all be about this loud. ... show more

I can’t say enough great things about this air popcorn popper. First of all it reminds me of my childhood. Super easy to use just fill the white little cup on top of the popcorn popper with popcorn plugging in and within minutes. You have perfect air popped popcorn. Way better than microwave popcorn.
