Used this to replace a 20 year old seal on a garage that rodents had chewed through and was in rough shape in general. I was hoping to just do a straight replace and not have to use the channels that came with this kit, but turns out the bottom of my garage door had some sort of proprietary clip that held the previous seal in place, so things worked out. I just cut off the old seal, mounted the channels that came with this in place (easily the most time consuming and nerve wracking part) and then slid the seal in place with a bit of armor all. I figured the channels all had to be perfectly in line and thankfully they didn’t need to be. Once I sprayed the seal with a bit of armor all to help slide it in place, things went well and I was able to essentially slide it in place. Overall installation time was probably 45 minutes, I checked it again the next day and slide it around to make sure it reached both edges but it’s been fine ever since. No light gets through so the quality and working value are good. The hardware has turned out to be just fine, although I did wind up using a drill bit for small pilot holes because the self tapping screws were bouncing around a bit too much for me. The first time I lowered the door I had to make some adjustments to the down stop and down pressure, the door almost immediately went back up but that’s because this seal is probably a full half inch thicker than the previous seal and has quite a bit more air gap filling happening. That was easy to accomplish with our garage door opener and it’s been fine since. We’ve had some pretty nasty storms in our area and I’ve yet to see anything get inside the garage. If you need a new bottom seal and aren’t sure how your current one is mounted, this kit covers all your bases.

Great quality for the price. All aluminum track and thick EPDM rubber seal. Take your time with the track install to line everything up and it makes installation of the rubber an easy 2 person job. Instructions were good as well. Double check the length on the box when it arrives. Had to return/reorder once as I have a feeling they share the same SKU, and I was shipped the wrong length the 1st time.

I would recommend ordering the 10 foot garage door for the 8 foot so you can cut the metal to fit your door as the 8 foot kit does not have 8 feet of tracking. Ordered 8 ft garage door. The metal pieces came in multiple sections and did not add up to 8 feet had to space them out a little bit to cover the complete 8ft door.. The rubber seal that came with the kit did complete the 8ft garage door length. When applying the rubber seal to the aluminum track, you need to use some type of spray oil detergent does not work, Water doesn’t work. It drags the rubber making it extremely difficult. Also the rubber has a tendency to constantly keep popping out so you have to do it numerous times and you need to enlist the help of someone to hold the seal at one end and pull the other The screws are not flathead style screws. They are for a countersunk hole. I went out and bought new screws to attach the plates to the bottom of the garage door. Extremely difficult to install if you’re not handy and have certain tools, not sure how long this will last or how fast the rubber is gonna fall out of the track on the bottom, may have to glue it on

Worked great. On old track screwed in new track love the self tapping screws.Only one person doing it I slide in the one side and then used that plastic tool looks like flat head screwdriver (wide 1/2 inch ). Put in other side left it about 2 inches past the door on each side. Now I don’t see daylight. Oh yea used WD-40 sprayed the slot and it really helped.thank you. Mr G

The mice were getting into the garage with the skinny seal I previously had on the door. My concrete floor isn't perfectly level in one area and the mice could squeezed under at that location. This seal is larger and can squeeze down more than the previous seal. It seals off the entire length of the door and keeps the mice out.
