Update: After 5 months of using this chair I wanted to give an update. The chair seat is quite deep to accommodate tall people. Because I'm not that tall, I have found that I sit toward the front edge or at the edge of the seat so that my feet can comfortable be flat on the floor. As a result, my center of gravity isn't over the seat frame, and the seat cushion has started to wear down on a downward angle and I gradually slide forward off the chair, and have to keep scooting back, only to slide forward again. To avoid this, adjust your chair height or desk height (if you can) so that you are sitting fully on the seat with your back against the back of the chair. Depending on your height and desk height this might mean using a foot rest so that you can sit on the chair and your legs are at a 90-degree angle and you can still rest your feet flat on a surface (the foot rest). Original Review: This chair has a very substantial/sturdy steel base and an adjustable back support. The seat is wide, however has no shape for support and it's not very dense. It's sort of just like a big flat cushion. Time will tell how long the seat cushion will hold up. The chair was easy to assemble.

Overall, a comfy chair. The one issue I find is that the height piston isn't fully reliable. At any given time, the seat will drop to a lower height, often in one major drop. After working with the seller, I was sent a new piston which I just installed. At this point, the new piston is holding well. Many thanks to the sellers, for being concerned and cooperative!

***Update: PowerStone got in touch with me quickly, offered a half refund. Then read the review, offered a full refund. I have yet to see the refund, so I guess we wait. They specifically asked I revise the review, and they did NOT ask me to stay silent about the agreement. They provided documentation in the form of screenshots of a full refund, I have yet to get it, so we wait.*** I get it, its a inexpensive chair, I'm lucky it lasted as long, I figured the cushion would go flat or the gas piston would. NOPE they work fine. The arms are fine, the back support WAS fine. The Chair broke off at the advertised Heavy duty base!!! this part is supposed to be steel not pot metal! YES, ITS A $150 CHAIR ADVERTISED TO FAT PEOPLE, YES I SHOULD HAVE BOUGHT A HERMAN MILLER HEAVY DUTY INSTEAD OF THIS CRAP. Now the question is, Will the company respond to my defective product claim and fix it. Because if this was meant for big people at a certain weight range, you might not be lucky enough to have a carpeted floor and a STEEL DRUM RACK to catch your fall and end up cracking your head on concrete.

I am large and also have arthritis. Working has become a new adventure in pain because in my job I sit a lot. tried all sorts of thing and then tried this chair...i kept it at.home for a couple weeks to see how it behaved with shorter time sitting and all was well. Took it to work and today waś my first day....i love it. I still have pain but its about half of what it was. That is a huge improvement. Ill be ordering another for at home. Edit. Bought the second chair for at home and its not the same...the lowest setting for height in the new chair is the same as the highest setting in the chair i bought first...weird. In all other ways they are identical.

I ordered this chair some time ago, I had high hopes but I'm somewhat disappointed. It was easy to assemble and looks good, but there seems to be an issue with the chair. Depending on where I'm facing, I feel like I'm falling out of the chair, since it slopes to the front. I can turn the base and it isn't as bad, but it is still annoying. Also the seat isn't as comfortable as I would like.
