I've only used it once so far. The week after I bought this we got 5 inches of wet, heavy snow so it was the perfect chance to see what it could do. It did clear all of the snow without a problem, even the snow that the plow deposited at the end of the driveway. It is not that easy to maneuver and it's a little on the heavy side but I guess that's too be expected for a single stage snow blower. All in all it works much better than my battery powered snow blower, there's no way that would have cleared the week heavy snow. ... show more

Actually got two of these hunks of junk. First one was damaged from freight, thats one thing, second one, which Amazon replaced for free, seemed okay until I used it. IT has such a bad twist in it, that the shovel edge digs into concrete and I cant even push it. NOT A GOOD DEAL

I just got this tonight, put it together (the manual is ok except the pictures are completely worthless) and ran it through its first job on some tough ice that slid off my roof. So far so good, it started up on the second pull, runs great, idles great, has plenty of power to throw snow and ice. For the money it seems to be worth it. The downside is all the knobs and handles are flimsy feeling plastic.....not sure if they will hold up to below 0 winters here in MN. My old ariens st824 lasted almost 25 years before it gave up the good fight.....this one has a lot to live up to. Update 3-11-19 After a few more wet heavy snowfalls....I can say this thing is able to power through some really heavy snow. I also cleared out a part of my backyard that had 2 week old/18in tall snow and it powered right through it. Actually I'm very impressed with this machine so far. Update 2/13/2020 After using this for about a year now, couple of small issues. 1st, one of the plastic parts (the housing for the gear to turn the snow chute) has cracked. Not the end of the world but annoying. One other thing I wish this did, I wish you could aim the chute down another click or two...this thing throws the snow very well/far and sometimes it goes too far (neighbors property or some other tight spaces). Keeping this at 5 stars because it chows through snow/ice, starts on pull number 1 or 2 and runs great but the cheap plastic parts are definitely a cause for concern and should be a bit heavier duty. ... show more

Went together very easy. I noticed reviews on similar units made by the same company about the cables not being able to attach them together. I just want to say they must be idiots because they slide right together no problem at all. After I put oil and gas in it I pull started it the first time after the third pole it fired right up no problems. After I plugged it in the electric start fired up first time. It has a lot of power the only thing I wish I would have gotten the step above with power assist for turning around but on the other hand I was trying to turn it around on dry pavement right now. But I'm sure when we have snow on the ground it will turn around easily. I love the 6-speed for forward to reverse. Other than that it's an excellent value for the money seems to be a good strong motor with a lot of torque hopefully I will find out on the first snowfall. ... show more

The price was wonderful! Easy setup and runs great. However, when compared to the toro I was replacing, it's very hard to push, especially up any incline. The scraper blade on this machine is a different quality plastic compared to the Toro. I think that if they were to improve on this, the machine would be just as good as a Toro. ... show more

I purchased this snowblower due to the extreme winter we had in Utah. The machine was easy to set up and was easy to start. The first time I used it I couldn't even push it without tilting it back which left an inch of snow on the driveway and walks. I would then have to shovel the inch of snow. I've had other snowblowers which were easy to push. I attempted to contact the service department by phone but could never get through after 6 tries. I took it to one PowerSmart's approved service repair shops and was told by the mechanic that the problem was that the rubber blades were too high off the ground and the machine was not adjustable. He recommended I return it. Luckily I purchased it through Amazon which gave me a path to contacting PowerSmart. PowerSmart customer service ended up being very helpful. They sent me a set of new rubber blades which were easy to switch out. Everything is great now and I'm very happy with the snowblower. I also appreciate the quick fix once I made contact with customer service. I would have originally given the machine a 5 Star if I hadn't of had to go through the trouble of it not coming with the correct size rubber blades.
