Elsie Silver never misses!! Another 5 star read⭐️♾️

5⭐️ Wow. This book had me hooked from beginning to end. I enjoyed it SO much. Read the last few words and instantly knew it was 5 stars from me. The deep friendship between Jasper and Sloane really resonated with me. It was so beautiful reading how they understood each other on a deeper level. Sloane was a people pleaser to her core, but more specifically, did everything out of “duty” or other people’s needs. No one asked her what she wanted to do, and she never preoccupied herself with her needs or desires. Except her childhood best friend, Jasper. Jasper was the only person who loved seeing her care-free and alive. The fiery girl, as he called it. Throughout the book, you really see her grow out of her shell, and say f you to anyone who put a damper on her peace. She reclaimed her life, and got rid of the toxicity while she did it. One thing I loved was how even with Jasper, Sloane was not going to take any crap from any one. He had to work to prove to her that he truly loved and deserved her. Jasper is a professional hockey player, abandoned by his family after a traumatizing accident. He was taken in by the Eaton family. Through the Eaton boys, he met Sloane as a teenager. I loved seeing Jasper process his emotions through internal monologues, and I loved his deep talks with Harvey. I would’ve like to see the process of Jasper healing a bit more. I feel like he processed it internally, and that was very clear, but I still would’ve loved to hear a little bit more. Overall I think this book was amazing. I enjoyed it so much⭐️♾️

A new favorite!

This book is the best one yet from the Chestnut Spring series. I am completely obsessed. This is THE friends to lovers to read! Truly one of the best I’ve read so far. Sloane has been crushing on Jasper since she first laid eyes on him but being a little older than her he knew they could just be friends. Until one day she’s grown up and things get complicated. Fast forward 10 or so years and Sloane is engaged. To someone else? Who doesn’t treat her right? Oh no.. Jasper can’t have that can he? This is a story of a runaway bride and her best friend. Dealing with trauma, expectations, and people trying to control their lives. Jasper Gervais truly melted my heart with his love for Sloane. Their friendship, his secrets, and just him himself. This man was the perfect love interest. Jaspers a shy, cowboy turned hockey player, who treasures his best friend and has a bit of a past. Sloane has always known what she wants at least when it comes to Jasper. After years of pining for him she decides it’s time to move on. Things don’t go how she planned and when she starts to fall Jasper is already there to catch her. These two discovering their feelings for each other.. or more like sharing their feelings for each other is just the sweetest thing. I was over here squealing and kicking my feet over CUDDLING. Just imagine when things pick up and get a little spicy. Jasper is.. whew. He can talk. The things he says, the things he DOES. Oh god. Is it too soon to do a reread? If you’re looking for sweet moments, pining and tension, and just two characters who are truly soulmates this is the book.

The perfect slow burn

𝘔𝘺 𝘩𝘦𝘢𝘳𝘵 𝘪𝘴 𝘪𝘯 𝘴𝘭𝘶𝘵 𝘮𝘰𝘥𝘦." This whole series hits different, and that includes Powerless. I’m not sure what Elsie Silver puts in her books, but they are comforting and perfect! I loved the slow and steady build-up between Jasper and Sloane. You could cut the sexual tension between them with a knife. It was wonderful! The friends-to-lovers trope is not my go-to, but this book might have changed my mind. The stares, small and lingering touches, and smiles about did me in. And when they finally got together, WOWZA. I also enjoyed how much we saw Rhett and Summer and Cade and Willa. The family rocks, Harvey was funny as always, and the ranch has the ultimate cozy vibes. I cried, laughed, swooned, and didn’t want it to end. If you haven’t read this series yet, you absolutely should!

Jasper 👏🏼 freaking 👏🏼 Gervais. Elsie did it again. She wrote a beautifully, complex, dynamic romance full of all my favorite tropes. •plot• Sloane is about to make a huge mistake and marry a total jerk. She’s not even sure she loves him. When everything comes crashing down, her childhood friend and crush, Jasper is there to help her pick up the pieces. •characters• Sloane is a prima ballerina and the daughter of a successful telecom tycoon. She was raised to follow her dad’s rules and she’s a big perfectionist. Her clothes, her hair, her diet - she does everything to get her parent’s approval. Jasper is a professional hockey player and adopted brother to the Eaton boys. He’s had a traumatic upbringing and seeks to control everything in his life to keep everyone he lives safe. His friends and his family mean the world to him. And of course, the other characters from the Chesnut Springs world are so hilarious and lovable. My favorites are Willa and Harvey 😂 Tropes: friends to lovers, age-gap, small town, hockey TW: cheating ex’s ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 🌶🌶🌶🌶

Book 3 of the Chestnut Spring series by Elsie Silver, follows our beautiful couple Jasper Gervais and Sloane. Both of them have been good friends for almost two decades. Butafter escaping what would've been Sloane wedding to a cheating scumbag, they find themselves in situations that can lead to be truthful to each other about their feelings. . . Out of the three books that are out right now from this series, I have to say this one is my favorite so far. Don't get me wrong, I been having so much fun with all of these books. I love the Eaton boys and their beautiful girls (Summer and Willa), but this book...ahh I just loved it. The romance, the pining, the agnst between Jasper and Sloane was so palpable. Their chemistry, the stolen glanzes made my heart flutter. As individual characters I loved them both so so much. I already loved Jasper from book 1 and 2, I knew I was going to love him in his own book. He has been through so much, but he has found ways to overcome every obstacle.(Jasper, you are my number 1, Rhett...you are now second). When it comes to Sloane, oh I loved her. She was such a strong female character. Being sheltered all her life, and manipulated by those she thought she could trust was something hard for her to overcome, but those moments she had, that showed her as a fierce and strong lead, made me love her so much more. . . Can't wait for the next book in the series (Reckless), because the little moment we had with Winter and Theo? I love me some reverse grumpy/sunshine.

JASPER AND SLOANE ARE EVERYTHING!!!

I knew I was ready for Sloane and Jasper's story, but never could have predicted it would have been that good!! These two were made for each other. Jasper had a horrible up bringing until Harvey Eaton takes him in. It is with his family that he is introduced to Sloane, the Eaton's cousin. They immediately notice each other. Growing up, Sloane goes out onto Jasper's roof with him every night to just talk and listen to each other. She has always been in love with him but he has always kept things at a friend level with the two of them because of their age difference, and because eventually we find out that Sloane's dad threatened that if he didn't leave her alone, he would ruin his NHL career. So, he keeps his distance. Until he is attending Sloane's wedding, to a complete jerk, and come to find out her soon-to-be husband had sex with a stripper the night before the wedding. So, Jasper saves her from this day and takes her away. They go to stay at the ranch. THE FORCED PROXIMITY IS TOOOOO MUCH IN THIS BOOK! It goes back and forth showing each one's thoughts and all like the other books have, the difference in this one was that they are both madly in love with each other, but are both too afraid to say it due to perceived barriers. Finally, when they finally get together it is PURE MAGIC. These two are amazing together. He is soooo protective over her and can't stand to be away from her. Finally, we see at the end him proposing with the ring she talked about in the beginning that she had told her ex-fiancee she wanted, only for him to go buy her the exact opposite of that. This was the sweetest proposal, and then in the epilogue we get to see that Sloane finally gets to have the intimate low-key wedding of her dreams. Then, the bonus epilogue is several years later and we get to see them having multiple kids and just being so happy together. Their story was amazing, will never recover!! Elsie Silver, you are a genius!

Friends to lovers is the best!

I love this series so much! I need a Jasper Gervais in my life! always enjoy and good friends to lovers and this book did not disappoint! It was also nice to get a look at how all the other couples are doing. Jasper and Sloane were so good together! Hope to see more of them in the next book! "Jasper: I don't like talking to people. Sloane: You talk to me. Jasper: You're not people. Sloane: Lmao. What am I then? Jasper: My person." Highly recommend this book and series!

Sloane and Jasper are childhood friends and remained in the friend zone. Everyone knew Sloane had a crush on Jasper when she was younger but they don't know she's still crushing on him. Jasper appears to be the talented star hockey goalie on TV but to Sloane he's the lost boy with sad eyes and a heart of gold. So when Sloane's life falls apart on her wedding day, of course he is the one to swoop in and save her. Then when his world comes crashing down, she returns the favor. Suddenly, and Jasper isn't looking at or touching her as a friend anymore and Sloane is going to make him prove he wants her. The whole Chestnut Springs series has hit after hit and this was no exception. I had been waiting for Jasper's book since the first time we met him in Flawless and he was everything I wanted and more. Sloane has some of the best character development in this book. These two were made for each other. There's so many good tropes in this - childhood friends to lovers, small town romance, road trip with forced proximity, age gap, sports romance, unrequited love, and plenty of spice. Sometimes friends to lovers romances can feel too much too quick for me, but that isn't the case here. We get to see Jasper and Sloane's relationship grow and develop. They have this wonderful relationship from when they were younger that's help set up this layer of trust and love for each other that's only grown stronger over the years. Just like Rhett and Cade, Jasper has quite the mouth on him with his dirty (and sweet) talk. While I felt like there was a little bit less spice in this book than the last two, boy was it good. The shower scene!? 😮💨 What makes this series so special is the found family dynamic and we get to see glimpses of Summer, Willa, Rhett, Cade, and Daddy Harvey again. Plus there's something that happens in this book that has me so curious about where the next book will go, I'll be anxiously waiting and am very excited to see what Elsie does next. "Because we’re me and you. We’re us. Unlikely and inevitable all at once. We’re forever.” dual POV 5/5 stars ⭐️ 3/5 spice level 🌶️ Thank you Grey's Promo and Elsie for the eARC!
