Definitely not strong enough to un-screw the oil plug but once you get it started you can use this and it works great! Especially on vehicles that are still hot and don't want hot oil dripping down your arm.

Unless you can unscrew your drain plug with one finger (loose threads) the magnet will just rotate itself off the hex. Some drain plugs are not flat on the head which makes the magnet useless. The 1/4" drive flex shaft and handle seem ok, so I put a short 15mm 6 point and it worked fine and kept my hands dry. The handle may be useful for other jobs as well, so I gave 3 stars.
