  • Great, Secure and Protected Small Bag for Gaming on the Go!
Style: Universal
I own a Steamdeck. While I love the Steamdeck’s hard-shelled carry-case, it can take up a fair amount of space in a backpack along with other equipment, such as power cords and headphones. I was looking for a more compact, lighter solution that would make gaming-on-the-go easier when I came across the PowerA Sling Bag for PC Handheld gaming. The sling bag is well constructed and is made out of a durable polyester-like material that should resist rips or tears. The outer portion of the bag contains three zipper compartments. The largest, at the front of the bag, opens up a space suitable for fitting headphones, charger cords, and power batteries. In fact, this compartment has a port through which you can stick through a power cord to allow battery charging directly in the bag. In addition, there is a top zipper compartment suitable for holding a gaming controller. On the back of the bag, along the side, there is another small zipper compartment perfect for fitting a cell phone. The main compartment, designed to hold the Steamdeck or whatever other portable gaming device, comes in a nice, vibrant, orange color. The interior is covered with a very soft, breathable fabric The interior pocket is also very well-padded on both sides to protect your device. There is a fabric bar, or support, that attaches to the interior via velcro, that can be moved to give your device more support. There are no supports to strap your device down, besides this cloth support, however the interior material is soft and will not scratch your device screen with any movement. I would recommend, however, storing any additional equipment or accessories in the exterior pockets only. My final take: I really like this solution for a small bag (rather than my current, larger backpack) for gaming on the go. The PowerA Sling Bag is durably constructed and offers multiple exterior pockets for headphones, controllers and power cords and batteries. My one criticism is that the interior has no strap to securely hold the Steamdeck in place, but as it is padded and soft, the device will be fine, provided I place any other accessories in the external pockets. For ultimate protection of your Steamdeck, there is nothing like the form-fitting, hard shell case that ships with it. This is also a sling backpack, in that it goes over one shoulder only. Please note that those expecting a full backpack with two shoulder straps will be highly disappointed. For those, however, looking for the perfect balance of protection and portability, I feel that the PowerA Slng Bag offers great durability and value. ... show more

  • Well thought out and designed for bringing your portable game platform(s) on the go
Style: Universal
This is a sweet little sling bag for portable gaming platforms of various sizes up to and including the Steam Deck OLED or the Meta Quest 3 WITH the Elite Battery Strap attached (see pictures for proof!). The bag has 4 compartments. The largest is, as mentioned before, roomy enough to fit a Steam Deck OLED or two or three smaller gaming platforms. Its fuzzy orange lining comes with a velcro-attached divider like a high-end camera case. The divider is sufficient to keep a couple of handheld platforms from banging into each other while they're transported. The front-bottom compartment has two shirt-pocket-sized pockets for power banks. It also has a port for extending charge cables out of the pack so you can recharge your phone or Nintendo Switch while the power banks remain safely protected inside. It also makes a nice place to keep various cables while they're not in use. This pocket is tall, wide, and deep enough to hold a couple of full-sized controllers, possibly even with a couple of power-banks in place. The front-top pocket is smaller, and is a good place to keep cartridges, small parts, tools, your cell phone, or maybe a couple of joy-cons. It's not really large enough for a full controller, but a pair of joy-cons would fit inside it nicely. The back is nicely padded, so you won't be uncomfortable with it slung over your shoulder. The strap is nice and wide, ensuring that even if you overload the compartments, you won't be miserable. The strap is sufficiently long that it will hang nicely at the small of. your back, or in front of your stomach, and it can be connected to either bottom corner so you can hang it over your left or right shoulder with equal ease. Summary: this is a really well thought-out bag for hauling gaming equipment around. It'll support large items like Steam Decks OLED or even something as big as a Meta Quest 3 (proof in the photo). It's comfortable when loaded, configurable for either shoulder, and feels well made. It's even a reasonable price for the value it provides. I'll be using it as a primary tote for a Steam Deck OLED, and I'm certain it'll be up to the challenge of keeping the deck safe. This is definitely a 5-Star bag. ... show more

  • Bright Orange Inside, Easy To See, Comfortable
Style: Universal
This bag is very nice for carrying your handheld on the go. The inside is bright orange and it makes it easy to find your gear inside. For example, extra cables etc. Everything is padded so it will keep your deck safe. Though it says it can be mostly used for gaming gear, you can totally use this for anything. Like if you are going on a day trip and just need a larger bag to hold things like water bottles and things like that. If you have the Audeze Maxwell 2 headset, the cups don’t lay flat so they don’t fit well in the headphone compartment. Though they do fit and close. Just not flat and I’d be worry about damaging them. Sony Noise Cancelling WH-X1000M5 lay perfectly flat. This bag is almost the size of the huge case it came in anyway so might as well use the PowerA. It is way more comfortable to take around. There are 2 mesh pockets in the headphone section and you can put the charging cable and/or a bluetooth adapter for the plane. The controller holder did fit the enormous DualSense Edge. Thought it was snug, the analogs weren’t pressing down or anything like that. The main compartment was generous in size. My Switch 2 fit with ease and lots of extra space. I love the adjustable bottom pad. Nice touch to make it fit what ever hand held you own. I could easily put my eReader in there with the Switch 2 and still have so much room. There is a small tap on the top so you hang the bag on a jacket rack. I do wish the headphone compartment was a hard case. Just some headphones can be expensive and I’m sure they would be fine in there, but it would have been nice to be more of shell. I think there is plenty of padding for a game console like the Switch 2, SteamDeck or ASUS Rog. I really like this bag, it can be use for more than gaming and is a nice travel size. If I didn’t need my backpack for my laptop, I would use this on the plane. I guess If I put my laptop in my carry-on, it would be fine actually. ... show more

  • A Well-Designed Sling Bag That Doubles as an Everyday Carry
Style: Universal
I've been using this Sling Bag for my Nintendo Switch for a while now, and it's become my go-to bag for carrying both my handheld gaming devices and everyday essentials. It's thoughtfully designed, comfortable to wear, and offers much more storage than its compact size suggests. The first thing I noticed was how comfortable it is. The shoulder strap is wide, well-padded, and distributes the weight nicely, even when the bag is fully loaded. The back panel uses the same ventilated padding found on many laptop backpacks, which helps improve airflow and keeps the bag comfortable during longer periods of use. The main compartment is spacious enough to fit most handheld gaming systems like the Switch, Steam Deck and other handheld devices without any issues. I was even able to fit my 11-inch iPad Pro, although it was a tight fit and made closing the zipper a little difficult. Smaller tablets fit much more comfortably. One feature I really appreciated is the bright orange interior of the main compartment. It makes it incredibly easy to spot cables, chargers, memory cards, or other accessories instead of digging through a dark interior. The pocket layout is very well thought out. The upper front pocket is perfect for items like sunglasses or a gaming controller, while the larger front compartment easily holds everyday essentials such as keys, a phone, a small power bank, charging cables, snacks, or a protein bar. On the back, there's a hidden security pocket that's ideal for valuables like a passport, wallet, or phone. Since it sits against your body, it offers an extra layer of protection when traveling or walking through crowded areas. There's also a cable pass-through that can be used for wired headphones or routing a charging cable from a power bank inside the bag. While it could technically accommodate a hydration tube, I don't really see this as a hiking bag. Instead, it shines as an everyday carry bag or for day trips where you want your essentials—and your gaming setup—within easy reach. The only feature I found myself wishing for was lockable zipper pulls. Some competing sling bags include zipper loops that allow you to attach a small travel lock, and that would have been a welcome addition here. Pros - Excellent padding protects handheld gaming devices - Comfortable, wide shoulder strap for extended wear - Ventilated back panel helps reduce heat buildup - Cleverly designed compartment layout - Bright orange interior makes accessories easy to find - Fits most handheld gaming PCs with room for accessories - Hidden rear pocket is great for passports, wallets, or phones - Front pockets are well-sized for everyday essentials - Cable pass-through adds extra convenience - Works equally well as an everyday carry bag Cons - 11-inch iPad Pro fits, but it's a very tight squeeze - Zippers cannot be locked with a small travel lock - Not designed for hiking despite the cable pass-through feature Final Verdict This is an excellent sling bag for anyone who owns a handheld gaming PC but also wants something practical for everyday use. It offers great protection, smart organization, and all-day comfort without being overly bulky. Whether you're commuting, traveling, or just heading out for the day, this bag comfortably carries your gaming device along with your daily essentials. The thoughtful pocket layout, hidden security pocket, and premium padding make it feel like a bag designed by people who actually use handheld gaming devices. Highly recommended for gamers looking for a versatile everyday carry solution. ... show more

  • A Practical Sling Bag for Gaming on the Go
Style: Universal
This is a very practical bag for anyone who travels with a handheld gaming system and accessories. I like that it is designed to carry more than just the console, with separate compartments for a headset, controller, phone, cables, and other accessories. The main compartment is padded and lined with soft material, which helps protect the gaming device from scratches and bumps. The adjustable insert is also a nice feature because it helps accommodate different handheld systems while providing extra protection around the controls and thumbsticks. The sling design makes the bag easier to carry than a larger backpack, and the wide adjustable strap and padded back add comfort. I also like the cable pass-through, which is convenient if you want to connect a power bank and charge a device while it remains inside the bag. PROS: Multiple compartments for gaming gear and accessories Good padding and protection for handheld devices Comfortable and convenient sling-style design CONS: Larger than a basic handheld gaming case Can become heavy when fully loaded with accessories The organization may be more than necessary if you only carry the console. Overall, this is a well-designed bag for carrying a handheld gaming setup in one place. The combination of protection, organization, and comfortable carrying makes it especially useful for travel or anyone who frequently takes their gaming system on the go. ... show more

  • A good multi-use bag. Zippers may not last though.
Style: Universal
This is a decently made bag with lots of uses for small/medium electronics. The cord pass-through is a plus. I like the single strap crossover design. It's generously padded and well adjustable to wear over either shoulder. The fabric is a good weight, and the styling is attractive. My only criticism is the zippers don't give me a ton of confidence. They have a concerning amount of resistance for first use. Zippers are commonly the first point of failure for a bag like this. Even if it has to be a dollar or two more expensive, this would be GREATLY improved by higher quality zippers and zipper pulls. Oh - and the front compartment really needs double pulls, too. ... show more

  • Excellent Protection With a Great Compact Profile
Style: Universal
I picked up this PowerA sling bag to have a reliable, secure way to transport my handheld gaming setup on the go. My initial impression is that it is an exceptionally well-thought-out travel bag that perfectly balances heavy-duty protection with smart organization, all while remaining surprisingly compact. What I like: -Compact & Travel-Friendly: Despite having dedicated compartments for all your gear, the bag overall maintains a smaller profile. It doesn't feel bulky or cumbersome, making it incredibly easy to travel with whether you are throwing it in the car or wearing it through an airport. -Smart Compartment Layout: The 4-compartment design is excellent. Instead of jamming everything into one massive pocket where gear can rub together, having dedicated, padded spaces for the main console, a headset, a phone, and extra accessories keeps everything perfectly segregated and scratch-free. -Dedicated Analog Stick Protection: Screen protection is standard, but the adjustable soft insert designed specifically to shield the thumbsticks is a standout touch. It gives great peace of mind that the joysticks won't get crushed or experience drift while zipped up tight. -On-the-Go Charging: The built-in cable pass-through is incredibly practical. Being able to tuck a power bank into one pocket and loop the cable into the device compartment means you can charge the console securely in transit without having to leave the bag hanging open. What to note: -Universal Fit: Because it is designed to be universally compatible with everything from the Steam Deck OLED to the Asus ROG Ally X and Legion Go, the exact fit will vary slightly depending on which specific handheld you are using. Overall, it is a premium, highly durable sling that keeps a remarkably low profile while making traveling with a portable gaming setup completely stress-free. ... show more
