  • nice item....bad instructions
this is a nice item that was fairly easy to assemble.the directions are just o.k and i actually installed a couple of the small pieces backwards due to not knowing how they were supposed to go.the pictures are good though and most people would figure it out. i personally think its over priced but thats the cost of being lazy and not buyin the wood to do it yourself....id buy it again if it were the cheapest option..i customized mine so i could have 2 shelves for chargers and it works.move the bottom shelf all the way to the bottom.the holes are already there for screws..you lose 2 drill hangers but im not hanging more than 3 anyway so it works for me ... show more

  • Works well and looks great
Yes, you could by a sheet of plywood and build it yourself, but this is a really good option if you are not wanting to actually build your own. It is pretty easy to put together with all holes being pre-drilled and countersunk. I did follow another reviewer's (volpster31) suggestion and mounted the lower shelf on the lowest section and gave myself a much larger bottom shelf. Yes, I can only hold 3 drills now, but that works just fine for me and the extra space in the shelf is great. It was a very good idea and I thank him for it. All in all I am happy with this purchase. ... show more

  • Not very good
Its alright but the instructions are iffy and I believe I have got the wrong pieces with mine. The instructions didn't have all the parts label correctly so I had to guess on a lot of the pieces. The wood wasn't label maybe only 3 pieces had the actual letter stickers on them. Only tip I can give is make sure you try to lay out all the pieces and hope you have everything I got pieces that were predrilled on the same sides when it was suppose to be opposite sides. ... show more

  • Easy to assemble, sturdy and meets the time vs cost tradeoff
I purchased this unit and the one with the drawer https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B089SQBHXZ (yes, I have way too many small power tools). Construction: They are made of 5/8" reclaimed solid wood. There are lots of the fine tooth finger joints making smaller wood into larger pieces. This is the same process that IKEA has used for years with success. The 5/8" gives you more strength than you would get from 1/2 plywood. All the holes are pre-drilled and countersunk. Wood is already finished, so you don't need to worry about that. There are three sizes of screws, the ones for assembling the wood parts have flat heads for clean construction and they are not going to pull through the wood. Assembly: Lay out all the pieces by size. Look at them, they all have holes. Screws go in the countersink side. Only tricky part is that the outer two support strips are flush with the front, need to make sure they are positioned correctly. The screws for assembly come in two lengths, I sorted mine out to make it easy to grab the right one. But the difference in length isn't that much so the slightly longer ones can be used in most places. I used my power screwdriver to assemble, it took less than 30 mins from unpack to hanging it on the wall. There is a review about wanting the holes on 16" centers. The chances of really finding studs in most finished garages is going to be hard, so the wall board anchors is the best compromise. You most likely have a drill, you can always drill holes in the back. Your issue may be that with the unit only being 18" wide between uprights getting it on a stud in a place that you like. I have french cleats on my walls, I cut cleats for the top and bottom and used that to hang it. Cost: At ~$70 I could have built one from a sheet of plywood for less cost. But in well under an hour I had two of these assembled, up on the wall and loaded with tools. With the current goal of "pick this mess up so I can build something I want" the cost trade off is fine. Usability: Good, I have a collection of battery powered tools that fit. Some of the corded tools fit, like hanging the jigsaw from the guide plate. The angle grinder almost fit, the slot was about 1/16" too small. But using the angle grinder I took the edge down in 60 seconds and it fit. Drawer is a good size for holding a variety of items. Drawer does come all the way out, so it's easy to pull it, sort through the items and put it back. Overall I can recommend this and unless you have Norm Abrams stopping over nobody is going to give you grief over buying and building these. ... show more

  • Organize your tools and garage
What a great way to organize my handheld tools! This power tool storage was easy to assemble and mount in my garage. It has easy access to often used screwdrivers and drill bits. I really needed something to get quick access to my often used tools as the others can just sit in the tool box. The holes were wide enough to hold my different branded power drills. Instead of using the top shelf for a power strip (I mounted that on the wall), I use it for additional storage for a work light, flashlight, and cordless screwdriver. ... show more

  • Not for 18v dewalt!!!
Overall it's a decent product for the price you pay. Unfortunately it doesn't hold 18V drills or 18v batteries . 20v fits fine . Pretty easy to assemble.

  • Would buy again
Would certainly buy again, just bummed because the wood is a tad soft and it was missing two of the shorter screws, but was a breeze to assemble. Also, they should really make the mounting screws 16” apart for east mounting to studs.

  • Love this. Ordered another.
Well made. Solid wood. Some screw holes weren't perfectly lined up, but not a big deal. I liked it so much that I am ordering another to extend it. Just leaving the bit holder off the right side to butt the next one up to. I don't think the bit holders are the greatest. I think I'll put a magnetic strip there instead. But all in all a great product. ... show more
