If you need to have better and more efficient systems in your business, get and apply what’s in this book!” —Lee Milteer, author of Success is an Inside Job,“BY FAR the best book I’ve read on this subject. Butler explains not only the reasons why every business MUST put systems into place, but also provides step-by-step guidance and real-world fill-in-the-blanks charts to help every small business owner, entrepreneur and sales professional improve his or her income and remove stress and uncertainty.”—Steve Sipress, Founder and CEO, Successful Selling Systems, Inc. “Holy Cow! I just finished reading Jim's new book and have to tell you I have a stack of notes and ideas I'm going to implement immediately. The content in Jim's book is amazing and logically laid out. It's a fascinating read with real-life practical advice. He's a true marketing genius. As a serious marketing student myself, I have to tell you that I learned a tremendous amount from his book. As a printer, direct mailer and marketing services company, we have a lot of moving parts in our business and it is absolutely critical that systems are followed to ensure that mistakes aren't made and that we keep our clients happy. This is the best book on systems creation I have ever seen."-Geo Read more

  • Good decent book
There’s not much about system in this book to be honest. It’s a good book though. It’s got lots of stuff from other books.

  • Valuable book for entrepreneurs, business owners, and people with big goals
This book manages to be inspiring, motivational, and practical all at the same time. Butler quotes from many other books and authorities to reinforce his point so it’s also an excellent source of further reading - because, let’s face it, if you want to be exceptional over the long haul you need all the models and motivation you can get. I loved the end-of-chapter scoring questions that give you a clear view of where you stand so you can plan ahead as well as they prescriptions for improvement and action steps. Worth your time whether your goal is to strengthen your business or even design your career. ... show more

  • Warning: This book is 500 pages!!!
I read the Kindle version & didn’t realize this book was so long until I was already several chapters in. It should have been half that. So much repeating of the same ideas & concepts over & over. Felt more like a motivational or inspirational book rather than a “how to”. Some good ideas & I did take some notes, but it was not the detailed step by step explanation I was hoping a 500 page book would be. The last few chapters of reading were just me being determined to fiiiinnnnaaallllllyyyyy finish it. If you’re looking for a feel good book full of stories to inspire you to want to create systems in your business, take the 30+ hours is takes to read it & enjoy!!! But if you’re hoping to get some wise step by step instructions, read SYSTEMology by David Jenyns instead. Way more practical, helpful & a lot less pages!!! ... show more

  • Don’t waste your money and time. Author has no respect for the reader.
This book is total garbage. I don’t like leaving a bad review, but with this I must. Do not waste your time. There are so many glaring mistakes in this book, grammar and spelling etc... too many to count. This book was put together thoughtlessly. It is obvious the author has absolutely no respect for the reader. I couldn’t even make it past 200 pages because I was so pissed off at the lack of respect for the reader. All this book is is a regurgitation of quotes from other books. This guy has hardly any of his own original thoughts. He does hardly anything but quite passages from other books. However, that was the only good thing to come out of it, was finding other books that I liked that he quotes in this book. It really is a shame. The guy is probably very nice and might have been very successful. He even wrote another book I considered getting. However, I was so insulted after reading this book that there is no way in hell I would buy another book from this author. It’s a shame because the subject matter really has a lot of potential. ... show more

The System is the Secret Book should be a manual and on the desk of every entrepreneur's desk. The chapter "Avoid Surprises and Blind Spots in Your Business" is worth more than 1000X the investment of this book. James Butler is the real deal! This is a must read!
