Bought this in 2022 for really cheap (like 90 bucks or something when most 850w PSUs ran closer to 200), so was thrilled at how cheap this was and thought i was getting a steal. Here we are in Feb 2023, though, and my games are crashing to desktop because the GPU isn't getting enough power from the PSU, so i need to replace it. Lasted for about a year with no issues, but seems to be dying out after about a year. PSUs are typically supposed to last for like 6-8 years depending on usage, yes? I'm not overclocking any components and 850w should be good for the rig i have. Rtx 3080ti ASRock z790 mobo Intel i9-13900 Again, good for a short-term replacement, but i wouldn't expect it to last long based on my experience. Edit 4/1/2023: bumping star rating up to a 5 from a 3. Upon further investigation, it looks like my components needed more than an 850W PSU, so if that's the case, this did the job. ... show more

Despite what happened to me with this PSU, I still would recommend it to anyone and would purchase it again. What happened was I bought this PSU as brand new, but Amazon somehow sent me one that was returned by a previous buyer. Parts were missing, the box was damaged in shipping, and I just didn't trust it knowing that it was a returned item. So, I got into a chat with customer service and they straightened everything out. I got a new one on its way to me even before I sent back the one I had. I tested the unit with the included testing kit, made sure it worked, and then installed it into my new gaming PC build. This PSU is a BEAST It competes with Corsair in my opinion honestly in terms of over all feel weight and looks. The only thing I wish was different is their PCIE cables are pigtailed I wish they were solid but that’s a personal preference I don’t like to look in my PC and see an unused pcie plug

When I initially purchased this PSU, I was pleased as punch. It was a good fit for my personal build that fit my budget and the 10 year warranty was a good selling point until... 13 months later, the PSU dies. I start the warranty process and was sent a AGT1000 PSU as a replacement since they were out of stock of the AGK850 PSUs at the time. Their initial response and handling of a warranty exchange was both prompt and professional. However, after the AGT1000 PSU arrived DOA, I proceeded to make the video the company requires showing it being non-functional, uploaded it, and sent several emails to the warranty / support email they provide to be completely ignored. The PC this PSU is intended for is my only PC. I homeschool my Autistic daughter with it and have not been able to do any schooling with her in 2 weeks since it is all online and I am unable to teach from phone screen. This has been very detrimental to her academic learning process as well as to her mental health because of the loss of structure and consistency she needs with her disability. This has been also included in my correspondence to Ares Games with no reaction from them. I would highly recommend not doing business with this company simply due to their own business practices in regards to their customers. Absolutely horrible follow through on their part. If they actually follow through, I will amend this review with that information. As of this moment though, I am disappointed in Ares Games and frustrated with their handling of this warranty issue. ... show more
