Pic 1, Position 1, Luminoodle OFF; Pic 2, Position 1, Luminoodle ON; Pic 3, Position 2, Luminoodle OFF; Pic 4, Position 2, Luminoodle ON; Pic 5, remote, [sold separately] Pic 6, inline dimmer. [sold separately] (Amazon changed the order of the pics, sorry) Been living in a custom-built campervan for over a year now and using a different set of 33' of USB lighting as my primary nighttime light source (No longer available on Amazon). They were never bright enough to do much with. So, on and off, over the past year (No pun intended), I looked for a replacement, preferably USB again for energy savings as I have 400 watts of solar and a 1500 Wh power station (Bluetti), and USB drains almost nothing from it. i have the 10' Luminoodle XL (white light only), and it is ridiculously bright for USB (360 lumens). You can see from my pics (off, on, off, on) the huge difference the light makes. I just ordered a second one for a total of 720 lumens in my 65 square foot abode. A couple of things some other reviewers have alluded to.... The Luminoodle itself, does NOT come with a dimmer/remote. It is sold separately for about $12 (amazon.com/gp/product/B06XXM1T5G/), and it is not linked to the Luminoodle Amazon page (likely Amazon's fault). Out of the box, the remote does not work. Naturally, you must pull the plastic tab that covers the battery. But then you still have to fiddle with it to get it to work. Not sure what I did to get it to work, but once it works, it's awesome! #SorryNotMoreHelpful Hoping this won't be an issue in the future. The remote is omnidirectional, unlike my previous set of USB lights, so transmitter placement is not important. Also, the Luminoodle is NOT flat. It has a flat side, and a curved side. So, the cord itself has a front and a back. For some reason, this pisses a lot of people off. Only complaints so far.... 10' is the maximum length you can buy. Also, the inline wired dimmer has a great ON/OFF button that simply toggles off and on. The remote has separate buttons for the same functionality. But, top left is off, and top right is on, so it's not too bad. For reference, my old set had top left as on, immediately next to that was off, and then there were 20 other buttons you had no idea what they did in the dark, nor could you tell which way was up in the dark. I needed a flashlight handy at all times. I cannot attest to longevity, nor can I attest to outdoor operation, as I've only used it inside my campervan for the past 24 hours. But, so far, I am thoroughly impressed, so-much-so that I've already ordered a second set of lights plus remote. I hope you have found this initial review helpful. Nothing was free. I have now spent $79 on Luminoodle products as of this review. ... show more

  • Fantastic for attaching to a pop up canopy
We travel with a tear drop trailer with an adjacent popup when camping. These lights are perfect to hang from the inside of the canopy. They can be attached with the included "bungee" type fasteners and the magnets space along the lights help to hold them in place. They light up the canopy space fantasticly with enough light to eat or play games by. We enjoyed these lights immensly on our 3-week road/camping trip. We bought two over time but find that only one is needed. I was concerned that it didn't have it's own power source and needed plugged in. It has a usb connection on one end of the string. It turns out that plugging in to a portable power bank works fantastic and will last several days. I don't know how many exactly because we would recharge the bank every few days anyway. I also bought a usb extension cable to be able to plug in to the trailer 12v socket (with a usb charger inserted) but found that the power bank was more convenient. I highly recommend these lights for any outdoor environment. They would work well in a tent or outside a camper equally well. Get one! ... show more

  • I love it!
What's to be said, it works as advertised! Okay, there are things to be said, e.g. I bought a cheaper knock-off to see the difference. It works well and puts off a very useable amount of light, I didn't have to strain to still see things when I used this in the dark of my kitchen, both pitch black and with the curtains open (moon light, street lights a few buildings away). stuffing it all into the included "stuff" sack, made a nice little lantern, it didn't give off a lot of light, but was perfect for ambient, where are my shoes/ don't trip on that log, type of light. The attached sliding magnets held the entire length to my fridge, and the magnets stayed where i slid them on the light rope, I have to assume they'll do the same on my truck, etc. The included "noodle ties", work as you would expect, they're nice quality as well. I've seen reviews that lament the "cheap bag", the bag, or stuff sack, seems nice to me, it's made of rip-stop nylon and is the quality I would expect when buying any type of stuff sack at a retail store. The 10ft. noodle, I was able to reliable get a bit more than 1 hour out of an 1100mAh battery, YMMV. The cheaper (I also bought a shorter version here), no middle man, china version works about the same, but you get the, advantage?, of lower quality. The included rubber ties were cheap and unlike the luminoodle ties, they didn't have a space to string the noodle through separately. there aren't any magnets to hold it on a metal surface either. and the stuff sack on this version definitely feels and locks lower quality than the luminoodle. Over all it's fine and works, but the quality difference made me indifferent to the money savings, and I would say in this case I don't expect it to hold up over time the way I expect the luminoodle to hold up. I would definitely recommend buying the Luminoodle in any length, it's a very useful item, it's uses seem limitless. ... show more

  • Good lighting and very flexible!
I like these lights. Very bright and versatile. The USB is hard to fit into just any USB though.....seems a little big and that you have to kind of force it. I hope they last after being put in and out a bunch of times. I was disappointed that the pictures didn't show clearly what all was included. I went by the product details and the specs (highlighted in the included photos) for clarity, and was under the impression that you could control the lights for dimness/brightness with a switch on the cord. I did understand from the video that the remote was separate. The switch is a separate purchase, however, which is slightly off-putting as it cost more than the lights. I had wanted to be able to dim then once the kids were near asleep in the tent. I just wish it had been more clear in the description. We're going camping this next week, we'll see how we like them and how long they last. ... show more
