    • Good, Affordable Option If Modifications Are Made

Scenario: My father who is about 5' 8" and 225 pounds needed a replacement recliner to sleep in. We decided to get a lift chair in case one is needed in the future. A few nights after he received it, he had to call for help. As he'd leaned over to press the side controls, the chair had overbalanced as it rose and dumped him into the floor. He'd grabbed the footrest and tried to use it to pull himself off the floor. He was unsuccessful. He ended up with a few scrapes on his legs, and a side seam of the footrest burst. Less than a week after the accident, I noticed a sore on his heel. At first, I thought this was some sort of diabetic issue relating to heel breakdown. The next morning, though, I noticed that there was a scab and blood on the bottom edge of the footrest and that the velveteen-like upholstery cloth was slightly worn. I believe the sore was caused because the footrest's padding doesn't wrap completely over the edge of the footrest; the wooden base of the footrest is like a board with a sharp edge, and this board is merely covered with thin upholstery material. Note on User Error: Be careful not to place a rollator/walker too close to the recliner when raising it. We noticed too late that the rollator's back wheels were in the path of the footrest when raising the chair, and the wheels were briefly caught. The lift mechanism now makes a slight clicking noise when moving upward. Pros: *Affordable, comfortable lift chair with heat and massage *Lumbar pillow *Arrived sooner than promised *Assembly by a handy person wasn't too difficult *Spare parts were provided Cons: *Side control can be dangerous if someone overbalances as chair rises *Seam on footrest burst when footrest was grabbed for leverage after user was dumped in the floor (see point above) *Padding does not wrap completely over edge of footrest which can cause sores on heels *Lumbar pillow goes down into the gap between the seat and the backrest *No way to raise the chair if the electricity fails Solutions: *Unplug side control and add a hand-held control like this one: Liftup Hand Remote Control for Power Lift Chair & Power Recliner, Replacement Remote Handset with 5 Pin, 2 Lighted Buttons CD001 (White) https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08R38Q2K3/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o04_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 *Sew burst seams *Fold a long blanket in half and drape over seat and past end of the footrest *Pillow is less likely to be completely eaten by the chair if it is placed atop aforementioned blanket, but underneath a disposable chair protector Concerns: *How long the upholstery will last because it seems thin and wore slightly after only two weeks of use on the part of the footrest that isn't padded *Slight clicking sounds when the chair rises because the wheels of a rollator were once accidentally caught underneath the footrest as it folded to allow the chair to rise Summary: This recliner isn't a high-cost, name-brand one. I bought this chair for my mom who recently had a stroke and a bad fall. Initially the chair was sent to the wrong address, and I thought I was going to have to fight to get either refunded or a re-shipment. Not at all, the seller promptly verified and re-shipped it immediately and I still received it on the date they originally gave. It comes in two pretty big boxes. Assembly was for the most part easy, but I would advise watching the video also. The diagram instructions didn't make everything clear. My mom has yet to use the chair because she hasn't come home yet, but I have tried it out several times and it seems like it will be fine. It lifts up pretty high if that is what is needed; my mom will need that. The massage cycles are also beneficial for people who have circulatory problems, or even stiffness from sitting. All in all, it was worth it and I would buy again, so far, if need be. Also, I might add that when the chair went to the wrong place, I was not very polite, mostly out of stress, but the seller/customer service did not react and remained professional and polite which made me feel really bad, so I want to acknowledge that they were very courteous, and I would definitely order from them again. ... show more

I am 65 years old bought for husband and wife chairs.265 lbs and 6 feet tall it is soft and firm where it needs to be and comfortable. Recliner motor has no noise. I have owned 2 previous brand electric lift chairs and this is the best. The USB charging port on the up and down control is awesome. I bought of these chairs also for wife. the control lights up blue led and makes a great night light. Cup holder are large and deep. 4 pockets 2 in front and 2 on side. the construction is sound. The key is the sliders on arms go below the lower frame so it is very sturdy unlike the other chairs I have owned. Your legs lay on a thick type pillow plush pads for comfort and reclines a little further then the others I have owned. The head, seat, and arm pads are soft,plush, and comfortable. ... show more
