I installed a plug-in Apple CarPlay screen in my 2017 Nissan Altima, and it’s made a big difference in how modern the car feels. Since this model doesn’t come with built-in CarPlay, this was an affordable and easy upgrade. Pros: • Wireless and wire CarPlay work great. • Screen is clear and bright, with good visibility even in sunlight. • Touchscreen is responsive, and all major apps (Maps, Spotify, Messages) run smoothly. • Installation was easy. It powers through the cigarette lighter • Auto-connect works well — it pairs with my phone automatically when I start the Conversation Cons: • The screen sits on your dash, so it doesn’t look factory-integrated, but it’s worth it for the functionality. Overall: Highly recommend if you want Apple CarPlay in a 2017 Altima without replacing the whole head unit. It’s convenient, easy to use, and way cheaper than a full stereo upgrade.

Why did you pick this product vs others?: I picked this thing up because my old car does not have any of the fancy tech, and I wanted something that could do CarPlay without dropping a ton of cash. Setting it up was not too hard, just plugged it into the cigarette lighter and stuck it on the dash. The screen is a decent size and clear enough to see maps and stuff while driving. CarPlay connects wirelessly, which is sweet because I hate messing with cables. It has Bluetooth for calls and music, and that part works fine. I can hear people okay, and they say I do not sound like a robot, so that is a win. It also comes with a little backup camera, which I did not expect to like as much as I do. It is not super high def, but it helps me not back into stuff, so I will take it. The touchscreen responds pretty fast too, not like those old GPS units that you had to press ten times. Now, there are a couple things that are kind of meh. The speaker on the unit is not great, so I had to run it through my car speakers to get decent sound. Also, the mounting thing could be stronger—it shakes a bit on bumpy roads, which gets annoying. Not a dealbreaker, but definitely not perfect. Overall, it does the job. Gives my old car some new tricks without needing to take it to a shop or spend a fortune. If you want something simple that lets you use your phone in the car without messing around, this gets the job done. Just do not expect it to look like it came with the car.

Since one of my cars doesn't have built-in CarPlay, I was apprehensive about purchasing this, but wow, it totally changed the driving experience. It was very easy to install. Everything you need, including the backup camera, is included with the unit. It took me roughly forty-five minutes to connect everything and arrange my dashboard correctly. It functions perfectly with my iPhone. When I turn on the car, it connects automatically. There are no erratic disconnections, and the wireless connection is steady. Even in direct sunshine, the 7" display is viewable due to its brightness and clarity. The touch reaction is smooth and high-end, unlike other devices. It's not cheap plastic and feels solid. No more fiddling with cords or phone mounts. I've already told three friends about it 😊
