I find that this portable welder is convenient to take in the go keep in the toolbox. It performs well and works well in a variety of metals. I was worried it wouldn’t give out enough but it is great for repairs or small jobs. I wouldn’t use it as my sole welder. Overall good set to get for a beginner or someone experienced. Good value

The set is not bad. It does have a couple flaws. The biggest is the plastic mask that I am guessing you are supposed to hold into place with one hand like you are at a masked ball. It is plastic so it looks like it will melt. It frankly is very dangerous looking. (I deducted two stats for this very unsafe mask!) The welder also uses a lot of energy. This translates to putting a generator in my truck to weld my gate by the road.

This portable welder works well for small jobs. It provides clean welds. It does hold the rod firmly in place, even if you have a bad strike and your rod fuses to the metal. It's easy to pull off and you don't have to worry about pulling the rod out of the gun. It comes in a nice hard case, and everything is organized. Other than rods, it came with everything needed to get started. I'd recommend getting a better mask, so you don't have to hold the included one up all the time. If you're in a hurry, it works fine and does what it should. It seems sturdily made, with heavy duty rubberized plastic. It's a little bit bigger than a full-size impact wrench. Cons: Size: You can work a much tighter space with a standard clip and rod. This one needs more space and you can't angle the rod in any direction. Weight: Not something you want to do multiple welds with or welding all day long. This is best for being ran on a generator out on a farm or jobsite to tack on something that might be broken, like farm equipment or an excavator real quick. As far as something small to throw on a work truck for the once in a while, oopsie welds that pop up here and there, it's a great tool and a great buy.

I got this to put in my truck tool box for those emergency fixes. It comes with it's own case and the case includes the welder, gloves, and a makeshift welding hood/lens. I have also tossed in a handfull of welding rods so that I have a complete setup. When I tested it, it works pretty good all things considered. There isn't any adjustments you can mkae. You simply stick a rod in the holder, turn it on, and hit the button when you are ready to weld. Sure it isn't like my expensive rig I keep in my shop, but it will be fine as an emergency welder. I was able to run it off a large power inverter too. So all things considered, I can't complain about it.
