I have a homemade hillbilly hot tub made with a big stock tank that needed some supplemental heat in addition to the solar water heater I was using with it. I hooked this up separately, with it plumbed in with a pump so it recirculates the tub water back through this to keep hot water flowing into the tub. It’s a pretty small unit, and while it’s definitely a lower budget unit in terms of overall build quality, it’s worked surprisingly well. The water comes out pretty hot and I’ve had it running for an hour or more at a time with no problems. For the price it’s a really good deal and I imagine it’d be perfect for hot showers while camping if it works this well in my application.

This was a perfect solution to our off grid cabin. Our main purpose for it was showering. After a hard day working it is great to be able to comfortably rinse the grime off before bed. It’s come in useful for hot water for dishes, pets, tools… it is very efficient on propane. We can use a regular BBQ size bottle that easily lasts a month or more. There is almost no delay in hot water supply. The best part is that it just uses batteries, no need to worry about installing it near a power source.

Perfect budget water heater for occasional camping and portable seasonal outdoor shower use. You will need a water source that has pressure for this of course, for off grid you'd also need a water pump capable of producing pressure and flow for a shower. I noticed that this water heater has several similar different branded models that look very similar here on Amazon. At the time of this review this propane water heater is priced on the low end of similar units. The shower will run a flow up to 1.6 gallons per min which is equivalent to a low flow residential shower. The unit uses 2 d batteries and will power up with as little as 2.5 psi. The shower does work well however the overall quality seems as though its designed for occasional use. I did knock one star off because the specifications are not listed, importantly, how many BTU's it will produce at max and also the maximum heat increase at a given temperature. These are important factors if your incoming water is very low, you may be unable to use the full GPM at a typical 120 degrees. For my use the water was very nice!

This was my first experience with a propane water heater, and I loved every minute of it. I dont think ill ever go back to the little portable battery operated , put it in the bucket of water one. The experience just wasnt the same! All you need is the actual propane! I think its priced at a great price, and it does come with everything you'd need (except the propane of course) it was super easy to hook up- for a first timer- especially camping, where you just want to relax as fast as possible but realize you have to set everything up to be able to start to enjoy anything. I didn't think it would be so easy to be honest i thought i was either going to burn myself, or need something i didnt have, i was wrong on all thoughts! They are super clear in how to connect everything to get it going. Once it was up and situated- It was perfect. The hot coming from this device was better than the hot i get at home. Im actually happy the water heater went in the camper so I could experience this! It was wonderful. Beyond wonderful, im very happy. This is a good heater. It lso, to my surprise didn't use anywhere near the amount of propane I thought it would either. We stayed for a week. And came home with almost a half a tank left! My showers weren't 5 minute showers either. This was definitely a nice experience.

I set up this 1.58GPM propane tankless water heater for my above ground pool, hoping for a few extra weeks of swim time before summer showed up. I’m not a techie by any stretch, but I had it out of the box and running pretty quick, and the instructions made sense—even for someone who usually dreads setup days. The LED display is clear and saves a bit of stress when you’re trying to figure out if you’re going to jump into an ice bath or an actual pool. The temperature adjustment is easy enough to get just right, so I could tinker around and find that sweet spot on cooler days. If you want something portable for an RV or campsite, I can see this heater pulling double duty. For me, it’s been great for the pool, and I like that I can haul it if I need to. Closest thing to a spring break at home I’ve had in years. No regrets giving it five stars.

I saw these come out a few years back and figured it was more novelty but after using it on one campout I'll never go camping without it again. We do car camping so we do take a fair amount of stuff with us and we always use state parks so there is usually a water spigot at each campsite but not always power. Being able to hook this up to water and a propane tank for instant hot water is amazing. Easy to clean up after cooking and awesome when it's cool and you need to wash hands/feet. It's pretty compact and easy to stow away and set up
