  • Exceeded advertised stats, very nice addition to the backpacking kit
I ordered two panels from Lumopal, this one being the 60W, the other was 30W. This panel is by a wide margin a better buy. There was nothing wrong with the other panel, however, I was actually fine with the retail price of this kit being $86.99 and very glad to see they were discounting it an additional 35%. That, plus the fantastic performance, makes this one of the best buys in the 60W panel range. When testing, I noted output over 65W, and this is with the panel resting on hot pavers and a 100 degree day. Heat really hurts panel efficiency, so I was surprised to see anywhere near the stated output, let alone above. It's built really well and comes with accessories that allow for connecting th panel to several common solar generators for charging. It's supplied with a nice extension cord. The panel easily folds and is also easy to hang. This set up is great for camping, or even hiking. At around 4 and a half pounds, it's a little heavy for backpacking, but if you're on a long hike in the boonies with more than just a cell phone, this panel will definitely keep your devices charged. At 22W max, it won't charge through USB-A at ripping speed, but that's still above many other charging devices. The build quality is very nice, the panel seems very durable, and the ad doesn't misrepresent any aspect of the kit, from everything I've seen. All in all, this is a VERY solid buy, especially if you can snag it for under $57. There's just nothing out there this nice in the 60W range at that price. ... show more

  • This will get a lot of use!
I live in Texas where we have plenty of sun. I wish my house were solar powered. I put the solar panels outside for about 5 minutes then connected my phone. It already started charging. Folded up the panels are about the size of a piece of notebook paper. Very compact. It comes with several adapters to help charge a variety of devices. I got to Galveston Bay a lot with my kids and this is now going with me. I'll even let my kids borrow it when I don't go. It's very well made. I'm a Type 1 diabetic and it's important for me to have my phone always charged so I can get my blood sugar readings. During a hurricane we had this year, I had to keep finding ways to charge my phone since we were without electricity for 4 days. We did, however, have plenty of sunlight after the hurricane passed, so these panels would have been perfect for me to keep my phone and my tablet charged. You can either lay the panels out flat or hang it. I love the idea of saving the planet by using solar energy whenever possible. These panels will get a lot of use! ... show more

  • My second panel from Lumopal and I love this thing
I have the 40 watt version and I love it. It's compact, works well, has all the accessories and ports that you would normally need to charge up a bunch of stuff. When this 60 watt version showed up I jumped on it. It's all the same but better. It wraps up into nothing with really nice straps and clips. It comes with a DC cord that fits most of my solar power packs and has USB and USB-C ports as well. This is the kind of thing you actually take camping to charge up your phones and other smaller items. You can leave it on your dash or just about anywhere but takes up no space. It's thoughful. It has a USB-C cord, two cords wraps and a whole slew of USB port adapters. I can't even thing of something else I would add. This company is rocking it and I would highly recommend this series of solar panels for on the go charging without the need for a power bank. Overall: Total 5 stars on all counts. ... show more

  • 5 Stars if truly hit more watts- still great product
With clear sun, most I got was 30 watts on this 60 watt rated panel which is only ok. Tested both morning almost clear sunshine and afternoon almost clear sunshine. Still, this product is light and truly portable so the lesser efficiency is worth it. Plus it comes with a variety of plugs of which one I needed for my other panel set (see picture). For my 500W solar generator, it would take two (2) full days of sun to charge from empty to completely full. The max wattage indicated was 30 watts as you can see in the picture. The 63 watts you see if for my other set of panels I use which are not nearly as portable (as you can see from the picture). It takes four (4) of the large rectangular panels to provide 60 watts which than allows me to fully charge in a day. Panels are rated at 100 watts combined. Overall- this is the real deal for backpackers and I'd give it 5 stars if would spit out at least 40 watts. ... show more

  • Fantastic portable solar charging kit
This is the best little portable solar pack that I've ever had! The pack unfolds to reveal your solar panels on the opposite side of the canvas. Just unbuckle the clasps, plug in, and it's ready to go. On the other side of your first panel, you have the zipped pouch with rigid mounted distribution block full of different charging ports. This kit also comes with all kinds of adapters (5 of them!) and cables included in the zip pouch. It's small enough to fit in a backpack, but still has a nice little rubber handle to carry if needed. There are also 4 velcro zip ties included in the box, nice little bonus that I almost didn't see since they weren't inside the zipped pouch. My only complaint is that when I attempted to charge something larger, like an iPad, the amount of solar wasn't strong enough at the time to supply a steady charge. What I've since decided to do was throw a small portable battery pack into the zipped pouch. This is going straight into my emergency pack, highly recommended. ... show more

  • Great solar panel
This is a plug-and-play solar panel - by which I mean it's ready to go straight out of the box. The panel unfolds, accordion-style, into 6 panels that are about 9"x10" each. These all feed into a master output box, which lets you go straight to USB A, USB C, or a pin-type circular plug. A small conversion kit is included, so you should be able to power almost anything with just the items in this kit. I charged a small power bank, a tablet, and a large power storage device with this, and everything worked flawlessly. It's well made and feels like it will take a beating. It has loops to stake it to the ground, and grommets to secure it to a pack or similar. I think it's a very good buy for small-to-medium power needs. It won't run your whole house, but it will get you through keeping your devices running! ... show more
