I worried that I might burn myself or damage a dish, using this... but bumping into it, while washing has not burned me. I fill the sink with hot soapy water, place this heater inside in a corner, and plug it in. It will come on and off, as it needs to keep your water at 140°, giving you all the time you need to soak a pot or wash your dishes.

I thought this would be great because it was low wattage. Unfortunately with two different units they both seem to overrun themselves decalcify extra heat anything you touch it to and it will burn. Severe fire hazard! I would not recommend you purchase this and go somewhere else! I will be returning these, only had them 2 weeks.

I’m running a tanked hot water so I would usually lose a lot before taking a shower. I do wish they made an 800 watt variant but these are modified de icers and no one makes an 800 watt heater. So, I have bought a wireless remote outlet with an anker 1500 watt surge protector. Just don’t touch it while it’s running and make sure you switch it off and let it cool in the tub with water. I don’t drain it until the water is barely warm. Yeah I’m buying another one, huge difference in really detoxing and boiling all the bad stuff out. It’s a massive chunk of metal.

So per the ad here it only starts when it senses temperature of 104 then gets up to 140 and stops. So if the water is 106 then its inoperable. If the water is below 104 then it quickly gets to 140 and because the water is now slightly above 104 it turns off. The water in question never got above 102 as it just kept cycling between being off and 140 degrees.

I bought two & I returned the product… it’s functional if it’s not touching anything.. I’m not saying it wouldn’t work for you, but it didn’t work for me. I found it very inconvenient & made more of a headache. I used it for my horse trough my horse ended up touching it & now she’s got a burn… left it in there for thirty minutes, it melted the side of the trough bc it touched it despite it saying bucket, spa & bathtub safe. I’m glad it’s just my horse & not my child… It’s pretty expensive for not doing it basic function or doing it safely in my opinion. It definitely heats up though.

I only gave it 4 stars cause it takes so long to heat up. Having an issue with my water heater needed a temporary fix and this did if for around 30.00 it does take several hours to heat bath water. But it does get it hot. I left it in 5 hrs and it was very hot. About 3 the next time not as hot but so far so good just used it twice hopefully it lasts until I get my hot water heater fixed.
